Popular Warzone stats experts JGOD and TrueGameData have revealed the buffed SMG that makes it even greater than it already was.
Warzone Season 1 Reloaded may have brought a load of new content to the game, including another The Boys Operator and a new way for players to get a Nuke in battle royale, however, major weapon buffs and nerfs to the meta weapons didn’t drop along with the patch.
This left many frustrated, as powerful weapons such as the MTZ Interceptor were left unchanged. However, the January 19 and January 23 updates introduced some huge nerfs to the MTZ and WSP Swarm, as well as many balance changes to Aftermarket Parts.
One of the SMGs that has been among the meta close-range options received another buff, which Warzone experts JGOD and TrueGameData believe has boosted it straight to the top.
The AMR9 has become a top pick in replacement of the WSP Swarm, and while it has become a meta option for close-range in Warzone Season 1 Reloaded, the devs decided to give it another buff to boost it even more.
The AMR9’s Conversion Kit received an overhaul, but JGOD claims that the base version of the weapon is “even better” thanks to an improvement to the SMG’s bloom and a secret rate of fire buff.
While the majority of changes in the January 23 update were for MW3, the rate of fire buff and bloom update for the AMR9 carries over to Warzone.
JGOD said this 6% increase in the AMR9’s rate of fire is “pretty noticeable,” and broke down the TTK stats. Thanks to this RPM improvement, according to JGOD, the weapon now has an extremely competitive TTK, and is even great outside of close range.
TrueGameData agreed, as he also explained that while the Conversion Kit is “not worth using,” the weapon’s rate of fire buff makes it a serious contender thanks to its “crazy” TTK. “Now it’s going to be good in all situations, definitely a meta weapon,” said TrueGameData.
The only thing holding the AMR9 back from being the hands-down best SMG in the game is its mobility, as JGOD calls it a “slow gun,” while TrueGameData also highlights its slow sprint-to-fire speed.
That said, TrueGameData said that a mobility build for the AMR9 to reduce its sprint-to-fire time “absolutely” makes it a meta weapon for Warzone Season 1 Reloaded, and is even better than the new HMR-9.
