Warzone Season 2 introduced a ton of content.
Fortune’s Keep returns in Warzone Season 2
Following a handful of leaks and teases, the popular Fortune’s Keep is officially returning in Warzone Season 2. During CoD Next, Call of Duty revealed that the Resurgence map was coming back.
According to the blog, the arrival of Fortune’s Keep “adds to the active Areas of Operation in Call of Duty: Warzone.” This means it’s expected to join Ashika Island or Vondel on the rotation.
Fortunes’s Keep Ranked Resurgence arrives in Warzone Season 2
For the first time in Warzone’s history, Call of Duty confirmed that Fortunes’s Keep will have an exclusive Ranked Play mode coming during Season 2’s “launch window.” This will allow all players who reached Level 55 to compete and climb through the ranks.
Despite the mode maintaining the basics of MP’s Ranked Play, the dev team has introduced “several changes and innovations… to adjust the rules as they relate to Resurgence.” This includes updates to the Skill Rating, SR Placement, SR Challenges, and the introduction of SR Death Fees.
Here are the basics of the Ranked Play mode for Fortune’s Keep, as stated by the blog:
- Party Size: Trios
- Map: Fortune’s Keep
- Game Mode: Resurgence
- Public Event restrictions: Yes (Firesale and Restock happen at fixed circles. No other Public Events are available)
- Vehicle restrictions: Yes (e.g., No Turreted Vehicles)
- Restricted gameplay elements: Yes
- Buy Station Inventory Adjustments: Yes
Warzone Season 2 new gameplay features
New gameplay features will be added with the Season 2 Reloaded update.
Warzone’s Season 2 introduces several new gameplay features to Fortune’s Keep players that will be available “within the launch window.” Here’s a look at every new feature coming in Season 2.
Zombie Nests and Eradication Contract
The temporary Eradication Contract will have players “investigate any corpse, following tracks to a Zombie Nest of localized Zombie activity and destroying the cyst or Zombie HVTs” before the Contract runs out.
Rogue Signal Public Event
The Rogue Signal “competitive” Public Event will pit teams in a “90-second objective-based mission.” After being activated, players will get a new HUD element with an objective, a scoreboard, and the placement compared to their opponents.
Zombies Power-Ups
Season 2 is introducing a selection of Zombie-based power-ups for “a limited time.” Similar to how they work in the Zombies mode, these will buff certain attributes which will combine with the Perk selection you make.
Extendable Bridges
Players can use the bridges strategically to counter vehicles.
Fortune’s Keep’s new version presents “three Extendable Bridges over gaps in fallen roadways.” These will be located in specific areas of the map and can be extended or retracted “by using a small control console, one on either side of the bridge.”
Wonder Weapons
Call of Duty teased the introduction of “Wonder Weapons with limited ammunition support and no restock options” to arrive under certain circumstances within the game.
New Tracker: Squad Wipe Streaks
Season 2 is adding a new tracker in players’ HUD to mark the consecutive Squad Wipes achieved. This feature will be tracked on every match and will count towards the overall statistics.
When eliminating a full team, a new icon will show up in the top right HUD. After that, a 90-second countdown bar will initiate which will be the time for you or a teammate to eliminate another team and earn a Squad Wipe Streak.
The Walking Dead crossover coming in Warzone Season 2
The Warzone devs have confirmed that a Walking Dead crossover is arriving in Season 2, bringing iconic characters Rick Grimes and Michonne to the game. This comes as a tie-in with the new spin-off series, The Ones Who Live, which picks up after both left the main show in seasons 9 and 10 respectively.
Players can get their hands on Operator skins for both Grimes and Michonne, featuring the likeness of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.
Warzone Season 2 new Operators & weapons
Warzone Season 2 introduces new additions to the Operator and weapon roster, including some familiar faces and exciting guns.
Operators
As stated before, Season 2 brings The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes and beloved Campaign character Kate Laswell within the Battle Pass, alongside John Doe as part of the BlackCell Battle Pass.
Weapons
Also, the Season 2 update further expands the weapon roster by introducing four new guns into the game, including the BP50 Assault Rifle, RAM-9 SMG, SOA Subverter Battle Rifle, and Soulrender Melee.
That was everything you need to know about Warzone Season 2.
