Despite being one of the highly requested features, Ranked Play for Al Mazrah in Warzone arrived in May 2023. With the new map, Urzikstan being introduced in the battle royale, the question remains, when will Warzone get Ranked Play? Here’s all you need to know.
Warzone ushered in a new era with its integration with Modern Warfare 3, bringing a ton of new content, like new weapons and the Urzikstan map. While a majority of the community is always out to figure out the meta weapons, many like to test out their skills against players with similar skill levels.
Competitive Warzone has been a thing ever since Verdansk launched in 2020, but it wasn’t until 2023 that a full-fledged Ranked Play mode arrived and instantly became a fan-favorite. Ranked Play in Warzone allowed you to advance through various ranks and unlock several rewards as well.
With Modern Warfare 3 set to get its Ranked Play in a few days, you might be wondering if Warzone Ranked is arriving as well. So, here’s all you need to know about Warzone Ranked Play in Urzikstan.
When does Ranked Play return to Warzone?
Warzone’s Ranked Play mode comes to the Urzikstan map in “early 2024.” Once the new map drops, it sounds like Ranked Play will be temporarily removed until Raven Software and Treyarch bring “a brand new Ranked experience into Warzone.”
Speaking at Call of Duty Next, Warzone’s Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins said, “Going into this new year of Warzone we just want some time to kind of digest that initial feedback… let it breathe, let everything breathe.”
Modern Warfare 3 gets its Ranked Play mode with Season 1’s mid-season update which is expected in the third week of January, but there’s no precise timeframe for when we can expect Warzone Ranked to arrive. It’s possible they’ll arrive at the same time, but with MP Ranked Play mentioned several times and no mention of Warzone Ranked outside of CoD Next, it’s unlikely.
How much will change also remains to be seen, but much like the approach to MW3 and Urzikstan’s development, expect changes based on player feedback. We’ll be sure to let know if there are any updates.
