Warzone ditches backpack mechanic to make looting much easier with Black Ops 6

Warzone will return to its original looting system, as the backpack mechanic will be cut from the game once Black Ops 6 integrates with the battle royale.

The backpack looting system was introduced when Warzone 2.0 first dropped with MW2, and while it’s seen some tweaks and adjustments, it has remained in the game.

Whether it be extra Killstreaks, Equipment, Armor Plates, or Ammo, you can store many more items than you could with the original inventory system.

Before backpacks, players had set inventory spaces for weapons, Killstreaks, Armor Plates, Equipment, and ammo. Many preferred the original system for its simplicity and limited spaces that put everyone on an even playing field.

Once Black Ops 6 integrates with Warzone, the original inventory system will return, albeit with a new Satchel mechanic that expands the amount of armor and ammo you can carry, as well as a dedicated melee weapon slot.

Backpack looting will be gone once Black Ops 6 integrates with Warzone.

With backpacks gone, looting will be much more straightforward, as you won’t have to waste time sorting out your backpack or contemplating which items to pick up.

Looting will be as easy as picking up items you don’t yet have in your inventory. Further, as you’ll only be able to carry a certain amount of specific items like Killstreaks, you’ll actually have to be more tactical about what you pick up instead of just spam looting.

This adds an extra layer to tactics in Warzone, especially when you’re in a squad, as you’ll need to figure out what Killsreak or Equipment you and your teammates should pick up.

It also means you’ll generally have less loot, so you’ll need to be more sparing with ammo and other items at your disposal.

The dedicated melee slot is also important, as when you’re holding your knife, you will always have infinite Tac-Sprint, making you much faster.

The shift back to the original looting system is just one of many changes coming to Warzone with Black Ops 6, as Perks are being reimagined and a new Resurgence map is set to arrive too.
