Call of Duty is usually recognized for its war-themed content, including characters and maps. In recent games, however, the franchise has incorporated creative and fun-to-play content to alter the classic FPS experience.

As part of the 420 event in April 2024, the dev team included the parkour circuit Get High for the first time. After several months, a new version of this limited-time mode returned with MW3’s Season 4 Reloaded.

Following the positive response to the parkour LTM, a new playlist called “G3T_H1GH3R Mosh Pit” was introduced on July 11, 2024. This playlist offers a unique experience on a brand-new neon-themed map.

This prompted players to express their enthusiasm for the new “creative” battleground by sharing their reactions in benmetalhead’s post titled “This map is a TON of fun. Great job, Sledgehammer!!!” on the MW3 subreddit.

“I just think it’s funny. We don’t need immersive maps. Just give us the rough sketch with no textures and we’re good,” a player shared in the comments.

Another user added, “This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I almost completely overlooked it at first… The shifting walls and openings to slide through have made for some fun moments.”

Several players claimed it was nice to have some multiplayer variety with a map with such an “atypical look,” while others cheered the map’s design resemblance to the science fiction franchise Tron.

In agreement, Rufi000000 remarked that these “fun maps” make “getting rolled by boring meta guns a little nicer.” These meta-dependency cases usually happen once the major updates’ buffs and nerfs are established, leading many players to resort to a few popular weapon picks.

Since the MW3’s launch, SHG have introduced a ton of themed events, some even in collaboration with other popular series and video game franchises like The Boys, Dune, and Tomb Raider.

Following the G3T_H1GH3R map’s great reception, this creative content will likely continue to appear until the game’s lifecycle ends. However, this could even be extended with Black Ops 6, developed by Treyarch, who have also incorporated creative ideas in their previous CoD games.
