Since the start of MW3 and Warzone Season 2, player complaints about cheating have reached an all-time high. With more and more players growing frustrated about cheaters in MW3 and Warzone, the devs revealed new countermeasures and bans with the Season 2 Reloaded update.
The Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded update brought new content for players to explore, including two new weapons, the classic Das Haus map, a new Fortune’s Keep POI, and so much more.
The Call of Duty team also used the Season 2 Reloaded update to hit back at cheaters by implementing “several aggressive upgrades” to RICOCHET anti-cheat. Players have grown increasingly frustrated with the number of cheaters in MW3 and Warzone throughout Season 2 and begged the devs for a response.
That response arrives by way of the Season 2 Reloaded update, as the devs shared the new measures they put in place via the CODUpdates X account.
#TeamRICOCHET Update: Our team has seen and share your frustrations about a rise in cheating reports. We remain focused on this fight.

The anti-cheat highlights include a new mitigation feature called BOOM, which is meant to explode any vehicles that are not meant to take flight. In the past, cheaters have used exploits to make certain trucks fly in Warzone.
Warzone and MW3 Ranked Play enthusiasts will be pleased to know that “speed optimization for detections” have also been implemented. Popular streamers and content creators have been vocal about cheaters ruining the Ranked Play experience, so it remains to be seen if this change will have a major impact on the competitive mode.
To round things out, the devs also confirmed that “over 26,000” accounts were banned on March 7, the day the Season 2 Reloaded update rolled around. It seems the devs are committed to cracking down on cheaters in MW3 and Warzone.
Now, it’ll be up to the players to dive into the new content and convey if the changes have had a noticeable impact. We’ll keep you posted on all the latest anti-cheat updates.
