What is Call of Duty 2025?
According to leaks from insider Tom Henderson, Call of Duty 2025 will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 (2012), taking place in 2030.
This could see Call of Duty shift from linear campaign missions to an open-world campaign style similar to the Far Cry franchise. The report mentions that the CoD 2025 campaign could bring several different biomes to explore.
While this information has yet to be confirmed, players will likely get their first look at this new campaign style with CoD 2024.
Call of Duty 2025, which is currently rumored to be a sequel to Black Ops 2, is also being discussed internally as having an open world campaign with several different biomes/locales
COD 2025 still doesn’t have an assigned lead developer
Call of Duty 2025 is set to have a mix of brand-new maps and remastered fan favorites from Black Ops 2.
On top of that, the game is leaked to have another overhaul to movement, the Pick 10 Create-A-Class options return, and the Gunfight mode.
It’s said the game was originally set to bring remasters of all of Black Ops 2’s maps, but perhaps because of backlash to MW3, it will also have brand-new maps at launch. CoD 2025 was rumored to have all of Black Ops 3’s maps back in September.
It was called a “completely new game” which suggests it might not have the Carry Forward feature that would bring all of CoD 2024’s weapons and Operators over.
BREAKING: Call of Duty 2025 is reportedly set to be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, set in the near future of 2030
It’ll reportedly have mix of new MP maps and remastered BO2 maps
It’ll also have updates to movement, Pick 10, and round based Zombies maps
Call of Duty 2025 is set to feature round-based Zombies again. While Henderson’s report acknowledges that the plans could easily change, he said “it’s understood” that there will be another year of round-based Zombies.
CharlieIntel has also heard that round-based Zombies will return with Treyarch’s CoD 2024, which has also been reported by Windows Central.
Who is developing Call of Duty 2025?
There’s currently no information on who is developing Call of Duty 2025. While Sledgehammer Games are the most likely candidate, we’ll have to wait and see what Activision and Microsoft have in store.
