Significant leaks and rumors surrounding Call of Duty 2024 are constantly flying around. Set to be the next Black Ops entry, here’s everything we know about CoD 2024 so far, including leaked developers, setting, release window, and more.
The endless Call of Duty cycle provides no breaks, and despite players enjoying all the changes and content in MW3 and Warzone, rumors and leaks regarding Call of Duty 2024 continue to surface.
Although a long way off, the premium CoD entry following MW3 is expected to take players back to the Black Ops series. Here’s everything we know about CoD 2024 so far, including the expected title, developers, setting, and more.
Call of Duty 2024 expected title
Call of Duty 2024 is expected to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, according to Windows Central.
Following the previous Black Ops CoD title, set during the Cold War, the dev team is set to continue navigating through historic events.
Call of Duty 2024 expected launch window
Call of Duty 2024 is expected to be launched in October 2024, according to a report from InsiderGaming.
This would deviate from the November release pattern, moving the launch forward a month, similar to what happened with Modern Warfare 2019 and MW2, compared to the most recent releases in the franchise.
Call of Duty 2024 leaked developers
It’s all but confirmed that Treyarch will be developing Call of Duty 2024. The return of Treyarch as lead dev team was first reported by Bloomberg on January 22, 2023.
However, Raven Software is also set to be part of the game’s development, as InsiderGaming reported that the team behind Warzone will reportedly take over CoD 2024’s campaign.
Treyarch helped out with Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode.
Call of Duty 2024 leaked setting & time period
Following Warzone Mobile file leaks referring to the Battle of Mogadishu, Windows Central’s report revealed Call of Duty 2024 is expected to “take place during the Gulf War” and will be “focused on the CIA… examining the United States’ role in the conflict.”
According to their report, the next entry in the Black Ops series could “lean back into more traditional military combat technology and familiar Black Ops gadgetry as opposed to the current and near-future tech we’ve seen from Modern Warfare and some other recent Call of Duty titles.”
Call of Duty 2024 leaked campaign details
On February 5, InsiderGaming shared several details regarding CoD 2024’s campaign. Reportedly developed by Raven Software, the campaign is set to be a Far Cry-style open-world experience including fast travel systems and vehicles.
Additionally, InsiderGaming’s report stated that the game “will see the return of some Black Ops characters” including the fan-favorite Adler, who was one of the main characters in the story of 2020’s Black Ops Cold War.
NEWS: New rumors about Call of Duty 2024, Black Ops Gulf War: — Campaign to have open world elements (via @InsiderGamingIG) pic.twitter.com/J2m09BtePI — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) February 5, 2024 According to Windows Central’s report, Activision is discussing a “large pre-order early access bonus” for Call of Duty 2024, which would include “several days for the base game, and maybe even weeks for access to other modes.” Starting with MW2, Activision allowed players to access the campaign a week early. Now, it looks like Activision could try to grant players the possibility to access the full base game and certain modes much earlier, encouraging players to pre-order the game. Black Ops Cold War was Treyarch’s last CoD game to include the traditional round-based Zombies. Additionally, Windows Central’s article shared that with Treyarch’s reported return for Call of Duty 2024, the classic round-based Zombies is also set to come back. Even though MW3’s Zombies mode has received favorable responses, fans are eagerly anticipating a traditional survival Zombies experience, a realm in which Treyarch is regarded as the founding father. Alongside the string that alluded to the Battle of Mogadishu, leaker Reality claimed to discover concept art for Call of Duty 2024 in Warzone Mobile’s game files. This concept art shows what appears to be two of the maps that are in development. The first is a map that’s codenamed ‘Stealth’ and appears to feature a US military base in a desert area. Those who know their military history might recognize what looks like the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk stealth bomber in the hanger, giving further evidence of a 1990s setting. The second map is codenamed ‘Pillage’ and shows soldiers entering what appears to be a wartorn mansion or palace. Keep in mind that with Call of Duty 2024 still in early development, these designs may be scrapped or heavily altered ahead of launch. Following MW2, Warzone, and MW3, every future Call of Duty game will be developed under “one unified engine” — an advanced version of the IW engine. Speaking to the Washington Post, Call of Duty’s then-General Manager Johanna Faries confirmed that even though the next Black Ops will be on the same engine as the Modern Warfare titles, it will still feel different, as they want Treyarch games to feel like Treyarch games and MW games to feel like Modern Warfare. That’s everything we know about the next Call of Duty game so far. Be sure to stay tuned, as we expect even more leaks and official reveals throughout the rest of 2024. Quelle: CharlieIntel
