Black Ops 6 marks a new era for both multiplayer and Warzone, but will you be able to access your MW3 and MW2 skins, weapons, and camos? Here’s everything you need to know about how content is shared between current titles and BO6.
Black Ops 6 arrives on October 25, marking the return of Treyarch’s popular sub-series and the start of the next chapter for Call of Duty. 2023’s MW3 was a first for the franchise as the Carry Forward feature let players use their old skins and weapons in the new title and Warzone, but will the same be true this year?
Here’s everything you need to know about whether your MW3 skins and weapons will be available in Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
Does MW3 content carry forward to Black Ops 6?
No, skins and weapons from Modern Warfare 3 will not be available in Black Ops 6. While MW3 was an extension of MW2 in many ways, BO6 is a completely fresh multiplayer experience, so the old lineup of guns, Operators, and camos won’t carry over.
Treyarch’s new game is set in the Gulf War era and features overhauled movement, so multiplayer will introduce a brand-new slate of unlockable weapons that have been designed with this in mind, rather than trying to balance three sets of guns from entirely different games.
This means that any Operator skins or weapon Blueprints you purchased in the last two cycles won’t feature in BO6, but you can still use them if you head back into MW3 multiplayer.
ActivisionCrossover skins like the Dune or Diablo Operators won’t work in BO6.
Will MW3 content be in Warzone after BO6 launches?
Yes, all of your weapons and skins from MW3 and MW2 will carry over to Warzone, even after Black Ops 6 launches and integrates with the battle royale. While multiplayer is a totally fresh experience, Treyarch have confirmed that Warzone will consist of content from all three titles at once.
The following items from the last two entries will all transfer to the new version of Warzone:
- Weapons
- Operators
- Skins
- Camos
- Calling Cards
- Emblems
- Weapon Stickers
- Charms
With this in mind, Warzone will feature a huge roster of weapons, including the likes of MW2’s Kastov 762 and Lachmann Sub, MW3’s MCW and Kar98k, as well as all the new options added from Black Ops 6.
So, although any purchases made in MW2 and MW3 won’t make the jump into multiplayer,
they won’t be completely lost as Blueprints and Operator skins can still be equipped in the Battle Royale.
