When it comes to long-range engagements in Modern Warfare 3, LMGs are most players’ preferred choice as an alternative to ARs. Here are the best LMGs in MW3 ranked from top to worst in Season 2.
MW3 Season 2 is fully underway, bringing fresh weaponry, including the RAM-9 SMG, further expanding the game’s roster. Despite ARs being favored in the game’s long-range meta, LMGs can be both deadly and beginner-friendly when equipped with the right attachments.
Of course, picking the best LMG can be a challenge by itself, with MW3 featuring all the Modern Warfare 2 weapons and Season 1 Reloaded bringing another LMG, the TAQ Evolvere, into the fold.
We’ve ranked all the best LMGs in Modern Warfare 3, allowing you to pick the optimal gun for your long-range engagements.

Best LMGs in Modern Warfare 3
5. Holger 26
The Holger 26’s popularity has grown since launch following nerfs to other LMGs.
Thanks to its Assault Rifle feel, the Holger 26 LMG is a deadly option within MW3 multiplayer given its large magazine and high damage output, this gun is perfect for holding down key lanes on the map.
While it might not be as powerful as its counterparts on the list, this LMG is a deadly pick that can be further improved when equipping the best attachments.
4. Bruen Mk9
Returning from MW 2019, the Bruen Mk9 is still a top pick.
The Bruen Mk9 was considered a strong contender during MW 2019’s lifecycle, and it’s still a great pick in MW3. Unlike some of its counterparts, this LMG doesn’t feel too bulky which makes it devastating at all ranges with a rapid TTK.
3. TAQ Eradicator
The TAQ Eradicator was the first post-launch weapon to be revealed in MW3.
The TAQ Eradicator is a powerful LMG in MW3 that made its way into the title slightly after the launch of Season 1. While many in the community slept on this LMG upon its release, it has emerged as one of the best picks to kill enemies across long ranges.
Running the meta attachments on the TAQ Eradicator will help you bring the weapon’s recoil under control, allowing you to be precise and even outperform several top-tier long-range options.
2. Pulemyot 762
The Pulemyot 762 is a hard-hitting LMG in MW3.
Despite being the first that players unlock, the Pulemyot 762 is one of the best LMGs in MW3. Its damage over long distances is virtually unmatched, and its low recoil allows you to land headshots consistently.
What it lacks in mobility, the Pulemyot 762 makes up for in power, with its huge magazines helping it lay waste to entire teams. If you want to guard a key objective or hold down the main lane on a map, there’s no better weapon in MW3.
1. TAQ Evolvere – Best LMG in MW3
The TAQ Evolvere was released with MW3’s Season 1 Reloaded update.
While it didn’t exactly fly up the ranks after its Season 1 Reloaded release, the TAQ Evolvere has been established as the best LMG in MW3, following buffs in Season 2. It was always capable of quickly dispatching enemies at long range, but thanks to buffs that arrived on February 13, the weapon has also become a close-range menace.
The TAQ Evolvere had its damage range and mobility buffed, but most importantly, the devs buffed the 556 Belts Magazine attachments. This change has made it an incredible close-range option thanks to the Tac-Stance feature. The LMG’s excellent versatility makes it one of the best weapons in the game in Season 2.
