The Sawed-Off Shotgun is being released in XDefiant’s Season 1 update and is set to take over the close-range meta dominated by SMGs during the Preseason.

So, here’s how you can unlock the brand-new Shotgun in Ubisoft’s FPS game.

How to get Sawed-Off Shotgun

XDefiant players can unlock the Sawed-Off Shotgun through Season 1’s Battle Pass. It will be available in the free tiers, so all you’ll need to do is grind the Battle Pass to claim the reward when the Season 1 update is released on July 2.

At the time of writing, the devs haven’t revealed which tier the gun will be available on. However, we’ll be sure to update this piece once new information regarding its tier is announced.

According to the devs in the Season 1 XDebrief, this gun is a “super close-range” lethal Secondary that packs a “big boom for its size.” This back-pocket Shotgun can be paired with your favorite primary weapon, making it a top-tier choice.

The Sawed-Off Shotgun is a compact version of the Double Barrel.

However, given this is a Secondary weapon, the team confirmed this Shotgun is “much weaker” than the primary guns in the category – especially in terms of range and movement speed. Still, it offers “unique defensive and offensive capabilities” with limited shots pressuring you to choose them wisely.

To dominate the close-range meta or try out new options in the Secondary spot, make sure you unlock and fully upgrade the Sawed-Off Shotgun as soon as it’s available. Additionally, during the process, you’ll unlock a ton of additional cosmetic content via the Season 1 Battle Pass free and premium options.
