Warzone players demand nerf to “brainless” Pistol dominating meta

Warzone’s close-range meta has been dominated by one Pistol since the Season 3 update went live, and players are already begging for it to be nerfed.

Ever since the Warzone Season 3 update arrived, the Renetti Pistol has completely taken over the close-range meta. The patch gave it a healthy damage range buff, and with the help of the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit, it can be turned into a full-auto monster that outguns the game’s best SMGs.

Now, players are calling for the Renetti to be nerfed, as many are already growing tired of losing gunfights to it.

Reddit user ‘Short-Poem3445’ shared a clip of the Pistol/SMG hybrid demonstrating just how quickly it kills, with the caption: “Love this new meta… so much. You get melted insanely fast.” Plenty of other players Warzone players responded to the post, slamming the new meta and begging the devs to take action sooner rather than later.

“Why are people ignoring that the weapons TTK is a problem and that it needs a nerf ASAP? It’s annoying as f**k that half of the lobby [is] carrying this,” said one Warzone player, before another added: “Yeah they gotta nerf the Renetti kit, brainless gameplay with 20% faster TTK than the previously meta SMGs.”

Others mentioned that they would be able to handle the Renetti if it was limited to extremely close range, but claimed it’s still just as effective from further away: “It melts at distance too. It’s pretty unreal right now. Imagine buffing this and testing it and saying it’s good to go.”

Players also felt that the recently returned Rebirth Island is particularly suffering due to the Renetti being overpowered, as the close-quarters Resurgence map is overrun with Operators using the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit.

“It doesn’t reflect too well with Rebirth’s release, given that the meta was balanced [if] there were a lot of viable options then Rebirth would be a lot more enjoyable,” added another reply. “We need a balancing patch to shake things up again soon.”

Warzone’s next major update is Season 3 Reloaded, expected on May 1, but the devs release minor balancing updates regularly. So, given how dominant it has been so far, don’t be surprised to see the Renetti catch a nerf in the near future.
