A Warzone Handgun is besting all the meta SMGs with the fastest close-range TTK in the game, but you’ll need to use the Akimbo attachment to unlock its full power.
The WSP Stinger is an extremely fast-killing close-range Handgun that many are sleeping on. Players tend to gravitate towards SMGs when looking for a dominant close-quarters gun, but as we’ve seen in the past with Handguns like the Snakeshots and COR-45, these secondary options can often breach the meta.
That’s exactly what the Handgun is doing in Season 5, having a ridiculously fast TTK with the Akimbo attachment, beating the FJX Horus, Superi 46, and even the new Static-HV.
Using our best WSP Stinger loadout, I found the Handguns incredibly powerful in close-quarters combat, especially in tight corners and buildings where movement is essential.
Hip-firing with the Akimbo attachment meant I was getting a combination of body, leg, and headshots. This adds an element of luck, but when you do hit the head, the TTK is even faster. Further, as you can’t ADS, the movement and strafe speeds are quicker, which made it harder for the enemy to hit me.
I’m not the only one raving about the WSP Stinger in Season 5 either, as popular Warzone content creator WhosImmortal also broke down the stats using TrueGameData and revealed just how strong the Handgun with the Akimbo Rear Grip attachment is.
WhosImmortal said, “As good as our new Static-HV SMG is, as good as the Superi still is, as good as the FJX Horus is, the Akimbo WSP Stinger just melts everything.”
Due to the nature of the Akimbo attachment, WhosImmortal recommends not using the gun outside of 12 meters, as its accuracy drops off pretty drastically. This is the main downside to the Akimbo WSP Stinger, as it’s strictly for close-range gunfights.
This means you’ll need a strong primary that can do it all, and there are not many weapons better than the STG44 in Warzone Season 5. It’s an Assault Rifle that has some of the easiest recoil to control in the entire game, making it an ideal weapon to pair with the Handgun.
