MW3 devs promise COR-45 buff after nerfing it to the ground

The COR-45 Pistol was handed a huge nerf in the MW3 Season 5 update, making it virtually unusable in multiplayer. However, after plenty of backlash from the community, the devs have confirmed they’re looking at buffing it.

Unlike Warzone where you can run two primary weapons as standard, MW3 players often look to save a Perk slot by using a secondary instead. While Melee options like the Karambit are ideal for movement, the traditional COR-45 Pistol is the go-to for many.

However, in Season 5, the devs dished out a major nerf to its fire rate, as well as two of the meta attachments that make it a viable option.

The base rate of fire was reduced to 240rpm from 375rpm. Meanwhile, the XRK v6 Match and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Actions, which both offer fire rate buffs, were also reduced to 264rpm and 272rpm from 438 and 545 respectively.

These changes weren’t received well by the community, who felt that the COR-45 had been nerfed into the ground and was completely unusable. Luckily, a Sledgehammer Games dev confirmed on Reddit that they plan to roll out a buff at a later date.

“Feedback heard,” said the message from the dev. “We’ve made some fire rate improvements for the COR-45 that we expect to release soon.”

They didn’t go into detail on when the changes would be rolled out, or exactly how substantial they will be. But players were relieved to hear that the issue will be addressed, even if some were still frustrated that it got nerfed to begin with.

“Oh thank God. This s**t is literally useless now. They nerfed the cor to the ground for no apparent reason,” said one reply, before another added: “Four nerfs in a row to make it fire slower than the revolver wasn’t obvious enough that it was an issue for them?”

We don’t have a timeframe on when the COR-45’s fire rate will be buffed, but it should arrive before the Season 5 Reloaded update due on August 21, which also brings the new Spear and Torque 35 weapons.
