Modern Warfare 3 finally hits Xbox Game Pass this month according to report

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get to enjoy the last couple seasons of MW3, as a report claims it’s set to arrive on the service this month.

Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming reported this on July 10, and it doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Microsoft announced that Call of Duty would be coming to the Game Pass, as well as confirming that Black Ops 6 will arrive on the service for its October 25 release date.

Once it arrives, MW3 will be the first of the older Call of Duty titles to be added to the service after Microsoft’s Activision acquisition, which could indicate a similar destiny for previous titles in the series.

Insider Gaming couldn’t confirm an official date for Modern Warfare 3’s arrival on the Game Pass, however, Henderson suggested that it could happen at some point in the latter stages of the month.

If this is the case, there’s a chance that Modern Warfare 3’s Game Pass release could coincide with Season 5‘s launch on July 24, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet and this is just speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt.

It’s unclear how Microsoft managed to bypass Sony’s Game Pass block clause, which is meant to still be in effect up until the end of MW3’s live service offerings (Season 6).

According to Insider Gaming, the news is set to be officially announced soon, after the announcement that Xbox Game Pass prices will increase.

The monthly subscription service’s Ultimate offering has increased from $16.99/£12.99 to $19.99/£14.99 on Xbox consoles, and the PC Game Pass will go up from $9.99/£7.99 to $11.99/£9.99 per month. This is now the price for new users while existing subscribers will have to start paying the new price in September.
