Throughout their lifecycle, MW3 and Warzone have brought an incredible variety of collaborations with other popular franchises, video games, and even movies and TV series.
Further expanding the crossover variety, on July 12, Call of Duty announced through its X account that the game will receive a collab with the popular professional wrestling competition WWE, beginning on July 24, 2024.
In the teaser, you can see a fighting ring showcase next to some silhouettes of what appear to be fighters accompanied by the following caption: “It’s about to be a smackdown, WWE is bringing its best to the ring in Call of Duty Season 5 starting July 24.”
Although the devs haven’t confirmed whether this collaboration will include Operator skins or other offerings, it’s expected, based on recent crossovers, that the game will receive some WWE-themed content to celebrate the crossover.
This could include anything from arena-based maps, limited-time modes, store bundles with iconic WWE characters and weapons, and even an event with free rewards or content. However, keep in mind this is speculation, as no details have been revealed yet.
Although the wrestling franchise provides a ton of potential content to be added, this led players in the replies to begin expressing their desire to have their favorite wrestlers, such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and The Rock, as playable characters.
Since the collab will coincide with the new season, WWE could shape part of the theme, similar to how Season 4 featured a DNA and post-apocalyptic motif. This time, featuring the iconic wrestling competition.
We’ll be sure to update this piece once new information is revealed regarding this collaboration. Meanwhile, be sure to check everything we know so far about MW3 and Warzone’s Season 5 updates, as well as the active and upcoming events.
