Dataminers have uncovered a new set of Finishing Moves that are reportedly coming to Warzone and MW3, and fans are convinced that they’re part of an unannounced Deadpool & Wolverine crossover.
Both MW3 and Warzone are no strangers to crossovers, with recent seasons bringing the likes of Fallout and even Gundam to the games. But, despite the number of big franchises that appeared in CoD, fans have been calling for a fully-fledged Marvel collaboration for many years.
Now, we’ve got our strongest indication yet that the community’s prayers will be answered, as leaks have revealed upcoming Finishing Moves that could hint at a Deadpool & Wolverine movie crossover.
Dataminer ‘crashfty‘ shared a clip of a series of unreleased executions, which uses mannerisms that look just like those that Ryan Reynolds uses in his portrayal of the Merc with a Mouth.
This includes moves where the character lies on the ground before shooting the enemy and another where they sarcastically wave after securing the kill. These look very similar to takedowns seen in past Deadpool movies.
It’s worth noting that nothing has been officially confirmed, so these Finishing Moves could be part of a completely different bundle. However, given that Deadpool & Wolverine hits theatres on July 25, just a day after MW3 and Warzone Season 5 is due to arrive, fans are optimistic that they’re part of a crossover.
There is no word on any Wolverine content that has been discovered in the game’s files. Crashfty also mentioned in a reply to their post that there are currently no skins visible either, so it remains to be seen what the devs have planned.
If the leaks turn out to be true, it wouldn’t be the first time Activision have dealt with the Deadpool character. The self-titled 2013 game was published by the company and developed by High Moon Studios, who went on to work on Advanced Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and more.
We’ll have to wait for the official Season 5 reveal to find out if a Deadpool & Wolverine crossover event is in the works.
