MW3 players sick of OP Sniper Rifle “ruining” fan-favorite mode

MW3 added a new Sniper Only mode to the game with Season 2, and players are enjoying it. But the playlist has been dominated by one particular gun, and now fans are sick of it, claiming it is “ruining” all the fun.
Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t really have a shortage of guns to pick from, with every update continuing to add more. Season 2 added a couple more to the pile, but regardless of the many choices, players have always leaned toward the best ones.
No matter which CoD, Sniper Rifles are usually among the best guns, especially when the TTK is higher like in MW3. But even within the category, there will be one or two that stand out. For Sniper Rifles, the Longbow is one of the more sought-after picks, so popular that players claim it has ruined the Snipers Only playlist.
Reddit user ‘Twitchifies’ pointed this out in the ‘ModernWarfareIII’ subreddit, calling to “remove Longbow from Snipers Only” mode.
The Longbow is a lightweight Sniper Rifle in MW3, and is perhaps the best Sniper Rifle for aggressive plays and quickscoping. Players feel its aggressive and quick playstyle is oppressively good against other snipers, which is the main reason why they think it is ruining Sniper Only mode.
As OP said, “If you try to use an actual sniper you just get wrecked by people shooting at 5x the rate with a longbow with red dot sight.” Many shared the same sentiment with some claiming that it doesn’t even belong in the Sniper Rifle category: “Idk how the devs think the longbow belongs in the sniper category to begin with.” Another user replied, “It’s a marksman rifle tbh.”
Some, meanwhile, suggested a quick workaround, “Mode would be better with only magnification scopes being allowed.” Others, more or less, agreed that either it shouldn’t be in the category or that they should just make “only sniper scopes are equipable.”
Guns in MW3 and Warzone continue to receive buffs and nerfs all the time, so players are hoping that developers will touch Logbow in the upcoming updates.
