Among all the arrivals in Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded is a new Field Upgrade and Tactical Equipment, so here’s everything you need to know about Enhanced Vision Goggles and the EMD Mine.
The Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded update is packed full of multiplayer content, from returning BAL-27 from Advanced Warfare to the introduction of an Arcade playlist. It also features some fresh loadout options in the form of a new Field Upgrade and Tactical Equipment.
Here’s everything you need to know about the EMD Mine and Enhanced Vision Goggles in MW3.
MW3 EMD Mine explained
The EMD is a new piece of Tactical Equipment in MW3 that marks enemy positions on the minimap for the whole team to see. As revealed in the mid-season blog, it sticks to surfaces and is triggered when a player from the opposite team gets too close to it.
Once activated, the Equipment fires tracking devices to all nearby enemies, which highlight their position and direction on the minimap for a limited time.
This provides useful intel for the rest of your team and could be extremely effective on modes like Search and Destroy. Not only will the EMD Mine quickly reveal where the remaining players are, but it can also notify you when a key area of the map is being pushed or if they’re moving in for the plant.
MW3 Enhanced Vision Goggles explained
Modern Warfare 3’s Enhanced Vision Goggles is a Field Upgrade that highlights nearby targets when activated. This is especially useful in crowded areas or in long-range gunfights, as the Goggles clearly reveal any enemies who might be harder to spot.
Unlike other Field Upgrades, players who have it equipped can switch between normal and enhanced vision at will once fully charged. The battery only drains while the enhanced vision is active, as shown by the meter on the righthand side of the screen.
That was everything you need to know about Enhanced Vision Goggles and the EMD Mine in Modern Warfare 3.
