The next major update for Modern Warfare 3 will be Season 2. MW3 Season 2 will bring tons of new content and gameplay changes so here’s everything you need to know, including its start date and a preview of the new content.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 is fast approaching, and this major update is set to deliver plenty of new content from weapons, to maps, and so much more.
Seasonal updates are when Call of Duty games receive the most content and changes, so here’s everything we know about Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 including its start date and all of the content it’s set to bring.

The MW3 Season 2 update brings plenty of new content to the game.
MW3 Season 2 release date
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 will be released on February 7, 2024. This was confirmed by the official Call of Duty Team.
MW3 Season 2 The Walking Dead Operators & event
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 will feature a The Walking Dead crossover. Players will get the chance to secure both Rick Grimes and Michonne Operators in MW3.
These additions are meant to celebrate the start of The Walking Dead‘s spinoff series called The Ones Who Live, which features both Grimes and Michonne in leading roles.

Rick Grimes will be available in the Season 2 Battle Pass.
A themed The Walking Dead event will make its way to Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 with unique rewards up for grabs. The Walking Dead: Fear the Living event arrives on February 28 and will come to a close on March 6.
In addition, players will get the chance to test out a new mode called Hordepoint, which is a zombie-filled twist on Hardpoint.
MW3 Season 2 new weapons
Four new weapons will make their way to MW3 throughout Season 2, with two coming at launch. Check out the full slate of new weapons below.

MW3 Season 2 new maps & event overhauls
MW3 Season 2 will bring three new 6v6 maps to the game with the update and one more later on during the season. In addition, players will have a new War mode experience to dive into.

Players will also get two maps that are set to receive event-themed overhauls to fit in with The Walking Dead crossover.

MW3 Season 2 new Ninja Vest Perk
The new Ninja Vest Perk is coming to Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 at launch. The new Ninja Vest is perfect for players who are looking to get up close and personal with their enemies.
Ninja Vest Perk: Eliminate footstep sounds. Immune to movement reduction effects. Bonus Shuriken and Throwing Knife ammo. Resupply Shuriken and Throwing Knives every 25 seconds.
As you can see, the Ninja Vest Perk brings a total of four bonus effects, but keep in mind that these effects do not stack with other Perks.
MW3 Season 2 Operators
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 brings Rick Grimes, Kate Laswell, and John Doe as new Operators to unlock. As previously mentioned, Rick Grimes is part of a The Walking Dead crossover, but players will be pleased to see that they will be able to unlock the Grimes Operator through the Battle Pass.
Both Grimes and Kate Laswell are instant rewards from the standard Battle Pass, while John Doe is the new BlackCell Operator for Season 2. Meanwhile, a Michonne Operator will hit the CoD store sometime during Season 2.
MW3 Season 2 Zombies

MW3 Season 2 is set to bring the next chapter in the Zombies storyline.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Zombies players will have to wait until the mid-season update to receive new content. They can expect a new Story Act, the Second Rift, new challenges, and to face off against a new Warlord called Keres.
