The DG-58 has dominated Warzone since the Season 3 Reloaded update went live, but there’s another powerful LMG that players are sleeping on that can outperform it.
Warzone Season 3 Reloaded came with plenty of weapon changes that overhauled the meta, including a damage buff to the DG-58 LSW that has made it the go-to long-range gun. However, there’s another LMG that outguns it that players are neglecting.
The TAQ Evolvere had a brief spell in the meta back in Season 2 and has been mostly forgotten about since its nerf, but it’s back with a vengeance thanks to a ridiculous time to kill after the mid-season patch.
Stats expert TrueGameData covered the LMG in his video breaking down the best long-range weapons in Warzone, where he compared the TTKs of all the top options. He found that the TAQ Evolvere killed in just 750ms all the way up to 53 meters, which is 100ms faster than the DG-58.
Although it then fell off significantly beyond that range, the majority of key fights in Warzone take place under 50 meters unless you’re running a Sniper Rifle, which is why TGD felt that 40 to 50 meters was the most important range for a long-distance weapon.
However, despite the impressive stats, only 0.61% of players are using it according to WZStats.gg, while the DG-58 can be found in over 10% of all loadouts.
Much like its rival, the Evolvere is also extremely low recoil, making it very easy to land shots even when they’re off in the distance. As an LMG, it does lack some stability compared to meta Assault Rifles, but with the help of attachments like the SA Kilonova Stock, you shouldn’t have any issue achieving its best TTK consistently.
On top of all that, it comes with 100 Round Mags as standard, so you can keep putting the pressure on enemy teams without having to worry about reloading too often.
So, if you’re after a new long-range weapon in Warzone to give you an advantage, there are too many better options than the TAQ Evolvere. Be sure to check out our guide on the best SMGs to find the perfect partner for it.
