CoD fans have been eagerly awaiting the official reveal of the 2024 title developed by Treyarch, and the name Black Ops 6 has finally been confirmed.
As MW3 nears its fourth season, CoD players have been looking ahead to Call of Duty 2024, which is set to receive a deep dive at the Xbox Showcase 2024. Now, the much-speculated title of Black Ops 6 has been officially confirmed by a piece of marketing sent out unexpectedly.
Reddit user ‘Deth3588’ shared an image of a leaflet that arrived in a newspaper sent to their workplace, which featured the official Black Ops 6 logo on the front. It also mentioned the website ‘thetruthlies.com‘ which went live on May 22 as part of the hype-building campaign.
The website shows a TV with six channels, most of which are just static but occasionally show a handful of teaser images. These were included on the back of the leaflet the OP shared, including Mount Rushmore with “The Truth Lies” and the BO6 logo over each of the faces.
This confirms that CoD 2024 will be titled Black Ops 6, rather than Black Ops Gulf War which had leaked previously. However, the setting hasn’t been revealed, so the Gulf War may still provide the backdrop.
This all comes after the first teaser for the game arrived in Warzone in the form of the Sally Pistol Blueprint. Inspired by the cover of the original entry in the sub-series, it featured six tallies scratched into the side of guns, representing Black Ops 1 to 4, Cold War, and the 2024 release.
Little else is known about CoD Black Ops 6 at the time of writing, but we can expect all to be revealed at the Xbox Showcase. The game is expected to launch in its usual Fall slot on all platforms and will arrive on Game Pass on day one.
