Struggling to level up in XDefiant? Here’s when the first Double XP event is set to arrive, as well as the end date and how it works.

After a long wait, XDefiant is finally here and players are hard at work grinding to unlock the best weapons and meta attachments. However, there have been complaints that progression is too slow at launch, but the devs have announced a Double XP event to help ease the pain.

Here’s when the next XDefiant Double XP event arrives, as well as how long it runs.

XDefiant Double XP event start date & time

The first XDefiant Double XP event gets underway on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. Ubisoft announced it on May 23, tweeting they wanted to “celebrate launch week” by giving players more XP for a limited time.

When does XDefiant Double XP event end?

The XDefiant Double XP comes to an end on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. This gives you four full days to grind and unlock the attachments you’ve been eyeing up before the progression returns to normal.

Don’t worry, though, this is unlikely to be the last time that one of these events takes place, as other FPS titles, including MW3 and Warzone, hold them regularly.

XDefiant Double XP event explained

The XDefiant Double XP event running from May 24 to 28 offers Double Weapon XP only. This means that the rate at which your guns level up increases dramatically, but the speed of player and Battle Pass progression is unchanged.

A reply from the devs to their original X post also confirmed that Double XP Boosters stack during the event. All players were awarded five free tokens when the game launched, so using these throughout the weekend will essentially grant 4X weapon XP for the 20 minutes they are active.

It isn’t clear at the time of writing how often Ubisoft plan to hold these Double XP weekends, but we expect them to take place fairly regularly. Only time will tell if future events will also offer boosts to Battle Pass and player XP as well, especially once Season 1 adds more content.
