The Warzone meta is extremely competitive right now, but there’s a MW2 Assault Rifle being ignored that’s actually strong enough to rival the best guns in the game, thanks to its “low recoil” and impressive TTK at mid to long range.
Modern Warfare 2 weapons have struggled to make an impression on the Warzone meta since MW3 launched, but that’s not to say there aren’t plenty of solid options from the previous title. One of these is the STB 556, which CoD expert WhosImmortal believes can actually rival the game’s best Assault Rifles.
In his April 1 video, the YouTuber named the STB as one of the most underrated guns in the battle royale, claiming it’s “right in the mix” with the main MW3 ARs and can go toe-to-toe with the likes of the RAM-7 and the SVA 545.
Its TTK is virtually identical to the best guns in the category, and its “super low recoil” makes it extremely “easy to use” in mid to long-range fights where Assault Rifles thrive.
Most Warzone players have steered clear of MW2 guns since the introduction of the new weapons, mostly due to their significant visual recoil. However, with the help of MW3 attachments, WhoImmortal felt that the STB 556 is one of the few older options that still has a place in the meta.
Check out his best STB 556 loadout below.
WhosImmortal’s best STB 556 loadout in Warzone
- Barrel: 508mm Rear Guard
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
- Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5X
- Magazine: 42 Round Mag
- Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
The one drawback WhosImmortal mentioned with his best STB 556 loadout in Warzone was the small magazine size. Since its fire rate is fairly high, being stuck at 42 rounds significantly harms its damage-per-mag.
However, thanks to its extremely low recoil that makes it easy to land shots and TTK that rivals any meta rifle, the slept-on AR more than makes up for its shortcomings.
So, if you fancy a change to your loadout in Warzone Season 3 without feeling you’re at a disadvantage, the STB 556 is an underrated but deadly pick.
