Skill-based matchmaking has always been a hot topic in the CoD community, and that discussion has followed over to Warzone Mobile. Here’s whether Warzone Mobile also features SBMM.

Warzone Mobile retains many of the staples from its PC and console counterparts, from maps to modes, but how does matchmaking work? WZM is not expected to pit you against bots in your initial matches to give you a fresh start, like CoD Mobile.

Matchmaking is extremely important for mobile shooters like Warzone Moblie, as players can also hop in with controllers. So, here are the details on SBMM for Warzone Mobile.

Is there skill-based matchmaking in Warzone Mobile?

It is widely believed that Warzone Mobile has SBMM. While the devs have not outright confirmed the presence of SBMM in Warzone Mobile, most CoD games have skill-based matchmaking and Warzone Mobile shouldn’t be different.

When it comes to MW3 and Warzone, the devs offered a deep dive to explain how matchmaking works across their titles, thus confirming that skill and performance influence matchmaking in those titles.

Warzone Mobile is likely to follow a similar SBMM process.

Skill-based matchmaking tries to match you with other players with similar levels of skills, and there are multiple parameters by which players are evaluated.

Elsewhere, on Warzone Mobile’s official Discord, the developers did confirm input-based matchmaking will be rolled out sometime later in their pre-launch Q&A, they said, “We don’t plan to have that on launch, but we are considering adding that later on, and of course especially for competitive modes.”

While SBMM is likely present in Warzone Mobile, eventually the game will separate players based on input, which has been one of the highly requested features for Warzone and MW3.
