Warzone and MW3’s $100 weapon camo isn’t even animated

Warzone and MW3’s 0 weapon camo isn’t even animated

MW3 and Warzone’s Gold Cheetah camo can be unlocked by spending $100, but players might be shocked to hear that the skin isn’t even animated like many of the much cheaper options.

There’s no shortage of camos and skins to unlock in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, but some can only be earned outside of the game, such as the Monster Energy Operator. Another one of these is the Gold Cheetah camo, which can only be earned by spending $100 on the official Call of Duty website before April 24.

Despite the hefty price tag, players who managed to unlock it were shocked to learn that the reward isn’t even a premium animated camo.

The weapon skin, which can be applied to any gun, is instead a static camo that features a simple silver and gold cheetah print design, which doesn’t move or change in any way while being used.

This is despite the email containing the code to redeem the in-game item including an animated version of the camo, as seen in this clip by popular CoD streamer Symfuhny.

Animated camos are some of the best-looking and most sought-after in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, and are often locked behind the toughest requirements as a result. For example, Rotten Inferno required players to complete eight weeks’ worth of challenges.

Many will argue that dropping $100 in the CoD store should be rewarded just as handsomely, so it’s no surprise that players like Symfuhny are so disappointed with the final product.

This isn’t the first time the cost of an in-game reward has caused a stir in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 either. Back in Season 2, fans were left frustrated when they were asked to buy two bundles for a total of $40 to unlock a Dune skin.

Only time will tell if the devs decide to address this issue, either by animating the Gold Cheetah camo or by offering an extra reward. But for now, players should keep this in mind when heading to the CoD website to claim the skin before it expires on April 24.
