Summary

  • Call of Duty 2025 is rumored to be another Black Ops game.
  • A supposed leaker has claimed to reveal details about the Black Ops 7 campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies.
  • Fans should take the claims with a grain of salt, but it will be interesting to see if they’re true.

A supposed “leak” claims to reveal new details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, or whatever the next entry in Activision’s long-running first-person shooter franchise ends up being called. While there have been some exceptions, Call of Duty is almost always the best-selling new video game in any given year. Considering this, it’s really no surprise that the first-person shooter franchise has stuck with its annual release schedule ever since Call of Duty 3 hit store shelves all the way back in 2006.

A new Call of Duty release in 2025 is inevitable. The only question is what shape it will take. Rumors from reliable sources have said that the next Call of Duty is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2‘s campaign, specifically the parts that are set in the future. Now another supposed leak is making the rounds online, and while fans should certainly take the claims with a massive grain of salt, it paints an interesting picture for the 2025 Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty Releases New Update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone

Call of Duty once again releases a brand-new update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, which addresses numerous bugs and disables a popular item.

The apparent leaker, Reddit user Bigbyy, claims that they have recently been in a study group for the new Call of Duty game. They claim that the 2025 Call of Duty game is set in 2035 and will feature James Woods and Alex Mason. The campaign will supposedly feature 4-player co-op, a throwback to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with an open world map called “Avalon.” Black Ops 6‘s popular omnimovement is said to be making a comeback in the 2025 game, with wall running thrown in for good measure.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Rumors

The leaker went on to make claims about the 2025 Call of Duty game’s Zombies mode, which will supposedly be round-based and feature the multiverse versions of the original playable characters. A remake of the Black Ops 2 Zombies map TranZit is said to be in the game. The leaker went on to add that Zombies will have a difficulty toggle, a “wonder vehicle,” more story elements, and “the largest round based map ever created.”

As far as multiplayer, the leaker said that Black Ops 7 will have a 32v32 mode, remakes of past Call of Duty maps, a futuristic map with a Japanese theme, a typical progression system, killstreaks, and perks, with progression said to be carrying over from Black Ops 6 multiplayer. All of this is very interesting, but again, fans should treat the claims with skepticism for now.

The good news is that the reveal of the next Call of Duty game should be happening sooner rather than later. It’s entirely possible that Call of Duty 2025 will be unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, though with Black Ops 6 and the current iteration of Warzone still going strong, it’s also possible that the next CoD won’t be unveiled until later in the summer.
