According to new data mined game files, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch Studios will bring back Specialist Scorestreaks, a system most commonly seen in Call of Duty‘s Modern Warfare series. Following the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded, a plethora of leaks have surfaced regarding future updates for Treyarch’s newest shooter and its free-to-play counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty‘s highly anticipated Season 2 Reloaded update has once again brought plenty of content to Black Ops 6 for its mid-season refresh. The free patch has thrown two new maps into the mix for players to check out: Grind and Bullet. The former of the two is a remastered version of the fan-favorite map, which first appeared in Black Ops 2 as part of its paid Revolution DLC. Bullet, however, is a brand-new map that has already taken the community by storm and received its very own 24/7 playlist. The update has also introduced a plethora of new weapons, cosmetics, and more, but due to so many new files being added to the game, plenty of details on the title’s upcoming seasons are already being leaked.

Black Ops 6 May Bring Back Specialist Scorestreaks
According to Call of Duty leaker HeyImAlaix, Treyarch Studios is planning on bringing back Specialist Scorestreaks to Black Ops 6. Shortly after the Season 2 Reloaded update was released, the leaker discovered that Specialist Scorestreaks had been added to the game’s files but are not currently active in-game. In a new post on Twitter, Alaix posted a description from a file that read, “Perkstreaks – Earn perks for kill streaking instead of scorestreaks.” While it might have a different name in Black Ops 6, this is exactly how Specialist worked in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot. The feature didn’t make a return for the following two installments, but it looks like it could be arriving in a future season of Black Ops 6.
It is worth noting that plans can always change behind the scenes, so just because Specialist has made an appearance in the game’s files doesn’t necessarily mean it will ever see the light of day, although it does seem increasingly likely. This also isn’t the only new thing to be leaked from the Season 2 Reloaded files, as the fan-favorite Battle Royale map Verdansk has been added to Warzone‘s files, revealing new details on the returning map. According to data miners, Verdansk’s return will also feature Resurgence, which is a popular game mode that allows players to respawn as long as their teammates are still alive. There’s no confirmed release date for Verdansk aside from a Spring 2025 release window, but a Season 3 launch in March looks all but confirmed.
Season 3 might not just feature the return of Verdansk either, as another leak indicates that one of Modern Warfare‘s most controversial operators could be coming to Black Ops 6. In-game files have once again revealed that Hudson, Mace, and Roze are all set to return. While Hudson is an existing character in the Black Ops universe, Mace and Roze are not. However, the real kicker is that Roze is undoubtedly the most controversial operator in Call of Duty history due to one of her skins causing serious visibility issues at launch. Whether or not this blacked-out Roze skin will be returning along with the operator is yet to be known, but there’s no denying that Season 3 is shaping up to be Call of Duty‘s most interesting season to date.
