The Akimbo Reclaimer 18 in Warzone is nerfed! Max damage range and output have been reduced. Learn more about the impact of these changes.
For several weeks, the Akimbo Reclaimer 18 shotguns have dominated the Warzone meta, terrorizing players in both Resurgence and Battle Royale. The insane close-range damage and widespread made it a frustrating challenge to counter. However, Raven Software finally addressed the issue today with a much-anticipated balance update, bringing the Reclaimer 18 back in line.
Nerf to the Akimbo Reclaimer 18
- The Max Damage Range was reduced to 2.54 meters, down from 3.81 meters.
- Max Damage lowered to 35, down from 45.
- Near-mid damage dropped to 15, down from 20.
This substantial nerf effectively removes the Akimbo Reclaimer 18 from the absolute meta status. While the gun remains a viable option in certain scenarios like close-quarters fights in Resurgence, it’s no longer the powerhouse it once was. Don’t expect to see pros using this setup in high-stakes tournaments or kill races anytime soon.
Is the Reclaimer 18 Still Viable?
Though the nerf hits hard, the Reclaimer 18 could still find a place in Resurgence mode, where tight spaces and constant close-range engagements make the shotgun’s reduced range and damage less of an issue. That said, it’s days of dominating the battlefield, and killboards are over.
If you’re a fan of experimenting with different weapons and tactics, you can still get creative with the Reclaimer 18 but don’t expect it to be a go-to pick in competitive play.
