New Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Map Has Serious Hijacked Vibes
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone publisher Activision has finally pulled back the curtain on the upcoming Season 2 content update, with one multiplayer map giving fans some serious throwback vibes to 2012’s Black Ops 2. Season 2 will launch on January 28 and will feature two new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players to check out, and one of them is being heavily compared to Hijacked.
While there’s plenty of new content coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 next week, Activision has shared some disappointing news for Warzone players. Due to the ongoing cheating issues and a myriad of bugs plaguing the game during Season 1, Activision says Warzone Season 2 will have less content than originally planned. This is due to the studio wanting to prioritize new gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements over new content. When Season 2 launches on January 28, Warzone players will only find new Ranked Play rewards and a new Reactive Armor perk (with another perk coming mid-season).
Black Ops 6’s New Lifeline Map Looks Like Hijacked 2.0
Thankfully, the same cannot be said for multiplayer fans, as Black Ops 6 Season 2 will introduce plenty of new content to the game, from five new maps throughout the season to a plethora of new weapons, modes, and more. One of the two new maps available at launch is Lifeline, a brand-new 2v2/6v6 strike map that takes place on a small yacht. At first glance, many thought developer Treyarch had brought back Hijacked from Black Ops 2, which was another small, fast-paced map set on a yacht. However, Lifeline, although incredibly similar in style, is a brand-new map with no connection to Hijacked. The official layout and a few images of the map can be found below.
While Hijacked made its return in Black Ops Cold War, there has yet to be any confirmation from Treyarch on whether the map will feature in Black Ops 6. However, one Black Ops 2 map that is returning is Grind, which will be available with the mid-season update. This 6v6 remaster is set on the infamous skate park from Black Ops 2 and was included in the game’s Revolution DLC pack. Grind went on to become a fan-favorite among Call of Duty players and would go on to return in 2018’s Black Ops 4. Treyarch also teased an “additional surprise” related to Grind for later in the season.
That wasn’t the only tease made by Treyarch for Season 2, either. While many new weapons are already coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone with Season 2, the studio also teased a “rip-roaring projectile armament” for later on in the season. Players were quick to point out the specific wording of this tease and came to the conclusion that an iconic weapon from Black Ops 3 would be returning for Season 2: the D13 Sector. This special weapon shoots ricocheting discs capable of taking out multiple enemies at once, but its return is mere speculation until Treyarch or Activision makes it official.
