Many Warzone players widely ignore MW2 weapons, but some are actually top TTK options. In fact, a forgotten Assault Rifle just might be your next favorite weapon for Rebirth Island, as it’s an aggressive weapon with great damage at all ranges.

The weapon in question is the STB 556, and players are sleeping on it. This is mainly due to the fact that it’s a Modern Warfare 2 weapon, and they feel a little less smooth in comparison to MW3 guns. However, this AR can compete with the meta picks in the Season 4 Reloaded update thanks to its fast TTK and excellent versatility.

I found the STB 556 to be especially powerful on Rebirth Island, as the majority of gunfights on the smaller Resurgence map tend to be medium range, which is where the Assault Rifle excels.

It’s hard-hitting and has fairly easy-to-control recoil, which helps keep the TTK down since it’s a breeze to stay on target and hit your shots.

We recommend building it for medium and long ranges, with attachments that aid bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil control. Pair these with a nice long-range sight like the Corio Eagleseye 2.5x, and you’ll be deleting enemies in no time.

Even popular Warzone YouTuber WhosImmortal mentioned the STB 556 in his top five Resurgence loadouts, as he described its TTK as “crazy.”

The Call of Duty content creator gave the weapon further praise as he called it “incredibly versatile,” which helps when the gas closes in and things become more close-range on Rebirth Island, as it can still outperform top options like the MCW and SVA 545.

To round the loadout off, choose a powerful SMG like the FJX Horus or the WSP-9, which have made their way to the top of the close-range meta following the Superi 46‘s nerf on July 2.
