Call of Duty: Warzone Seemingly Confirms Return of Two Modern Warfare Weapons

Call of Duty: Warzone appears to have confirmed the return of two iconic Modern Warfare assault rifles, the Kilo 141 and CR-56 AMAX, for Season 3. In a new video celebrating International Women’s Day, the final few seconds feature two operators, one of which is a current Black Ops 6 character, holding the iconic weapons, seemingly confirming that they will make a return in the next season of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Season 3 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone was initially scheduled to launch later this month, on March 20. However, just two weeks before the new season, publisher Activision announced that the new season had been delayed until Thursday, April 3. The studio didn’t specify why it had made the decision to delay the update, but did note that Season 3 will be a “big moment” for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6. Activision then confirmed that more details on Season 3 will be shared following the fifth anniversary of Warzone, which is set for March 10. But it looks like the teasers have already begun as fans believe the return of two iconic Modern Warfare weapons have now been confirmed.

Call of Duty: Warzone Confirms Return of Amax and Kilo

In a new video on the official Call of Duty Twitter account, two operators can be seen at approximately 1 minute and 15 seconds, one from Black Ops 6 and one from Warzone. Both are on Rebirth Island, the iconic Resurgence map from Warzone, with one holding the Kilo 141 and the other holding the CR-56 AMAX. Given that one of these operators is from Black Ops 6, it seems as though Call of Duty has practically confirmed the return of these two weapons. It would also align with previous leaks surrounding Season 3, which point towards the return of various Modern Warfare elements, including weapons and operators.

If leaks and rumors are to be believed, Season 3 is going to be a monumental moment for Warzone fans. Activision has already confirmed back in 2024 that Warzone‘s very first Battle Royale map will be returning in Spring 2025, but now it looks like we could just be a matter of weeks away from Verdansk’s return as various leakers and insiders claim the map will make its comeback with the launch of Season 3. Activision has yet to confirm whether or not this will be the case, but given that the map was recently added to the in-game files and that the studio has already said the new season will be a “big moment,” it seems increasingly likely.

With Call of Duty‘s player count continuing to decline, there’s a lot riding on the game’s upcoming season. While some are skeptical about Verdansk’s return, Activision appears to be attempting to go all out for Season 3. That’s if leaks are to be believed, anyway. While it now looks to be practically confirmed that the Kilo and AMAX are making their return, previous leaks also suggested that other Modern Warfare weapons will be returning with Season 3, including the Grau 5.56 assault rifle and HDR sniper rifle. Whether or not Activision intends to bring back even more classic weapons remains to be seen. Fans will likely receive official confirmation in the coming weeks.
