Call of Duty Reveals Season 4 Reloaded Update Patch Notes for Black Ops 6 and Warzone

Activision has officially released the full patch notes for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone‘s big mid-season update, otherwise known as Season 4 Reloaded. The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone update will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Battle.net later today, July 2. But for those eager to see what changes have been made and what new content is coming to the shooter, the full change log is now available.

Late last month, developers Treyarch Studios and Raven Software released the highly anticipated Season 4 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The newest season had a lot to live up to after Season 3 received heavy praise from fans for returning Call of Duty: Warzone to its glory days. The return of Verdansk, as well as some iconic Modern Warfare weapons and gameplay features, made Season 3 one of the best Warzone seasons to date. Unfortunately, Season 4 didn’t just fail to live up to expectations; it released with a myriad of bugs and controversial features.

Thankfully, the season is now approaching the mid-way point of its lifecycle, which means Call of Duty‘s big Season 4 Reloaded update is almost upon us. The update is due to be released later today, July 2, and Activision has now revealed the full patch notes ahead of the update’s launch. The full change log for the patch can be found further down this article, which details the plethora of weapon adjustments, bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and more that are now set for Season 4 Reloaded.

Call of Duty‘s latest update is set to introduce plenty of new weapon changes, but undoubtedly the most controversial adjustment is to the Krig C in Warzone. According to the official patch notes, the popular Assault Rifle has had its maximum damage range reduced from 44.4 – 55.9m to 39.4 – 49.5m. It has also received multiple other nerfs to its medium and minimum damage ranges, meaning the weapon will be less effective at long range engagements.

Season 4 Reloaded is also introducing a massively controversial collaboration with Beavis and Butt-Head. The iconic cartoon characters will be joining both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone with their very own operator skins, which will be available to purchase from the in-game store later this week, and will also have a limited-time Event Pass for players to complete for some exclusive rewards. However, the collaboration has already been met with controversy as many believe the style of the character doesn’t fit in with Black Ops 6 or Warzone’s aesthetic.

  • Fringe (6v6)
    • First seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Fringe returns in a reimagined form for Season 04 Reloaded. Deploy to the Rolling Hills distillery during the grand opening ceremony.
  • Eclipse (6v6, 2v2)
    • Battle to the beat in this underground nightclub in Avalon where neon lights illuminate the halls and dance floor.

Cel-Shaded Map Variants

  • Play cel-shaded variants of Nuketown, Babylon, Skyline, Stakeout, and Grind in CODtoons Moshpit, while Party Ops features the same lineup (minus Stakeout).

New Multiplayer Limited-Time Mode

Party Ops (Launch Window)

  • Party all night in this Free for All party mode challenging players to finish a randomized set of minigames with the highest score!
  • The clock’s ticking, each minigame occurring in a short time frame. There’s no score limit and Scorestreaks are disabled. Matches take place across Babylon, Grind, Nuketown, and Skyline, with the top three scoring Operators winning the competition. Success means adapting to each new challenge on the fly, as the type and order of minigames is randomized at the start of each match.
  • Minigames include condensed versions of some classic Party Modes alongside wild challenges like the Dance Off, tasking Operators to get down and funky in the designated dance zones, as well as Musical Zones later in the season, featuring multiple capture points that dwindle down to a final location when the music stops. Better move fast!

  • Olympia – Special (Event Reward)
    • Double-barrel shotgun. Very high damage and respectable range but requires frequent reloading.

    • Converts the SVD into a full-auto weapon with a high rate of fire, improved handling and spread. Stronger vertical recoil and a rebalanced damage profile compliments the new fire type while still delivering impressive firepower. Blocks Stock, Underbarrel, Barrel, and Magazine Attachments.
  • TR2 CQB Auto Conversion (Event Reward)
    • Converts the TR2 into a fully automatic weapon with a fast fire rate that gradually slows down with sustained fire. Improves handling at the cost of damage range. Equips a new default Barrel and Magazine and unlocks an exclusive extended Magazine. Blocks Barrel Attachments.

Abomination Challenge (Launch Window)

  • Summon Mo by opening the doors to the Aether Church. Then defeat Mo. Mo has some unique abilities as an Abomination HVT. He will gain resistance, then immunity, to a weapon repeatedly used on him. Mo’s charge attack also holds a secret.
    • Available: Flow Mode, Cel-Shaded Map
    • Restricted: Quests, Easter Eggs, Exit Strategy (GobbleGum)

  • Expect a variety of Snacks and enemy-based modifiers as you desperately try to gain the upper hand against the undead onslaught:

    • Inspired by the initial chamber within the original Black Ops Zombies map “Moon,” Starting Room brings down the complexities of a full RBZ experience, while ramping up the combat and terror. You’re essentially doomed to battle through increasingly vicious waves of undead within the first area of a map. Raptor One has been grounded. All the doors are sealed shut and can’t be opened. Survive to the highest round you can and die trying!
  • Classic Features: The classic Round-Based Zombies baseline rules are in effect:
    • Available for crews of one to four players versus zombies
    • The match ends when all players are eliminated
  • Modified Features: There are various modifications within a Starting Room match: If the power in the map was off during a normal match, it is already switched to “on”.

New Zombies Leaderboard Event

King of the Dead Leaderboard Event

  • Rack up Points. Climb the Leaderboard. Out-slay the competition. During the King of the Dead Leaderboard Event, your Zombie Eliminations count for more than simply your longevity: play a match of Zombies to get placed on a King of the Dead Leaderboard and then get Eliminations to earn Leaderboard Points to climb the Leaderboard and improve your position. Special, Elite, and Boss enemies score more Points so you’ll want to set your sights on the biggest targets you can take out.

New Global Events

Beavis & Butt-Head (MP, ZM)

  • The two biggest idiots in animation are getting off the couch and joining the fight. Earn XP in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Call of Duty: Warzone while the event is live to earn free rewards like the new Olympia Special and Pickaxe Melee weapon.

  • Additional improvements to player collision that could cause players to get stuck when colliding with each other, particularly when teammates are prone.

Weapons (Multiplayer & Zombies)

Our focus in Season 04 Reloaded is attachment tuning. When it comes to attachment balance, our goal is not for every attachment to be viable on every weapon. That said, we want every attachment to have a place across the many builds and playstyles in Black Ops 6. These changes fall into two main buckets:

1. Portfolio-wide improvements to attachments that have lower usage.

2. Targeted, weapon specific changes to enable new builds.

Among the list of attachments receiving buffs across all weapons are the Short Barrel, Lightweight Foregrip, Precision Foregrip, Fast Motion Laser, Target Laser, and Combat Stock. An example of a targeted change is the C9, which has had its Tactical Laser significantly improved.

    • Outlines of enemies flash red periodically. Operators gain a proximity HUD, Tracker footsteps, faster reloads and plating, and a visible countdown timer. When the timer hits zero? You explode. Open caches to extend time; eliminations fully reset it.
  • Crouch Potato
    • Crouching transforms Operators into a sack of potatoes. Movement and jumping remain possible. While crouched, Operators regenerate health and armor unless damaged.
  • Eye See You
    • Everyone has an always-on Advanced UAV… and googly eyes.
  • Melon Heads
    • Operators sport oversized watermelon heads. Headshots cause explosive damage. Body damage is reduced; head damage is multiplied.
  • Make It Rain
    • Ammo and cash are abundant. Bullets are removed from your reserves, not your magazine – essentially infinite fire. Fire Sale is also active.
  • Unregulated Airspace
    • Airspace restrictions are lifted. More Killstreaks can be used simultaneously and are more frequently found as ground loot.

Finale Modifiers

    • All players receive identical Loadouts. All nearby weapons are removed from the environment.
  • Rising Gas
    • Gas begins to rise vertically, forcing players to climb to safety. Gas Masks and Personal Redeploy Drones appear more frequently during this phase.

 The Casual experience comes to Resurgence in the mid-season, mixing humans and bots in a fight to the finish. The main Resurgence ruleset applies, so do what it takes to stay alive and keep your squad redeploying. Drop in to warm up, teach a new player about the game, or just for a more relaxed Resurgence experience.
As with Battle Royale Casual or Call of Duty: Warzone Bootcamp, game progression is limited in this mode and results will not count towards or against your stats. This mode also doesn’t count towards your eligibility for Resurgence Ranked Play.

RANKED PLAY

Ranked Play: Resurgence Competitive Mode
  Ranked Resurgence is back in Warzone, bringing the intensity of Resurgence with the structure and integrity of competitive play. In addition to an overhaul of kill SR, Placement SR, and bonuses for division deltas, this iteration introduces a major update to the Skill Rating system in Resurgence Ranked, shifting progression from individual performance to team-based SR. Our hope with this change is that players can focus more on making sure that their squad is successful, and to promote direct teamwork in successful combat encounters. Eliminating the worries over last-hits or securing kills for SR should focus the gameplay in the same direction that our changes to SR rewards and Placement SR are trending: winning a match and defeating your opponents is paramount in ranked.

We will be doing some readjustments to the contract spawns in BR and the rewards for killing a Most Wanted target to address this.

    • This spawns additional items from supply caches and gives a higher chance to find Tacticals and Lethals, cash, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, and other high-tier gear.

Adjustments

    • Now regenerates up to full armor over ~35 seconds.
  • Tracker
    • Reduced total marked targets from 5 to 1.
    • Close range duration decreased from 3.75 seconds to 1 second.
    • Mid range duration decreased from 5 seconds to 1 second.
    • Long range duration decreased from 7.5 seconds to 3 seconds.
 The Combat Scout-style effect of Tracker was originally intended to support long-range play. Over time, it became more dominant at short-to-mid ranges. With wall-penetration visibility removed, the perk was rebalanced to mark multiple enemies - but five proved excessive. We're returning to a focus on your current target to better align with its intended role.
  • Grenadier
    • Equipment is now deployed faster.
    • Health regeneration delay from explosives reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds.
  • Bomb Squad
    • Damage reduction now applies to self-inflicted explosive damage.
    • Explosive damage reduction increased from 30% to 45%.
  • Restock
    • Equipment regeneration time increased from 50 seconds to 60 seconds.
  • Scavenger
    • The amount of cash dropped decreased from $1500 to $1000.
  • Reflexes
    • The explosive delay time increased from 1.5 seconds to 1.6 seconds.
