Summary

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone receive a new update on February 28.
  • The patch has no significant changes, as Activision says it is a “minor stability update.”
  • Call of Duty’s latest update is available to download now on all supported platforms and is approximately 500mb.

Call of Duty players have a brand new update to download as both Black Ops 6 and Warzone receive a minor patch in the final hours of February. Treyarch Studios and Raven Software, the respective developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, have continued to update both titles regularly with new weapon adjustments, gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and much more. While the final update of February is available to download and install right now, fans shouldn’t expect much.

With Call of Duty‘s second season currently over the halfway line, players around the world are patiently awaiting news on the game’s next season, as it could be its biggest to date. In 2024, publisher Activision confirmed that Warzone‘s very first Battle Royale map, Verdansk, would be returning in Spring 2025. While the studio still hasn’t given fans a firm date for the map’s return, recent leaks and rumors point to the map making a triumphant comeback with the release of Season 3. The new season is expected to drop sometime in March, and Activision supposedly has big plans for Verdansk’s Warzone return.

Call of Duty Releases New Stability Update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone

While Season 3 of Call of Duty is likely to bring plenty of content to both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, the same can’t be said for the game’s February 28 patch, which is a “minor stability update,” according to the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account. The update can be downloaded right now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a roughly 500mb download size, but this will vary between platforms. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any detailed patch notes for today’s update, which means there are likely no major bug fixes, weapon adjustments, or gameplay improvements.

With that being said, there was a fairly substantial update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone released on February 26. The update brought about a plethora of different bug fixes for both titles, while also reenabling the ability to open the “East Main Street” door buy from on top of the Yummy Freeze roof in Black Ops 6 Zombies. There was also a big surprise for Ranked Play fans, as the update unrestricted the Recoil Springs Fire Mod on the Jackal PDW submachine gun.

Shortly after the latest update was released today, the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account notified players that the studio was aware of an issue with Black Ops 6‘s new D1.3 Sector weapon. According to the post, there is currently an issue that is preventing players from completing the “Fast Times” camo challenge on the D1.3 Sector as one shot kills are not currently being tracked in multiplayer. Hopefully, Treyarch has plans for another update in the near future that will rectify this problem.
