With the highly anticipated Season 5 update looming, developer Treyarch Studios has confirmed another Double XP event for both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. It’s currently unknown if this will be quadruple XP event, or if it will simply be double player and weapon XP, but with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 4 now in its last couple of weeks, there’s a strong chance that the upcoming event will also feature double Battle Pass XP and 2X Gobblegum earn rate in Zombies.

Treyarch Studios has yet to confirm exactly when Season 5 will begin, but if the shooter’s usual update schedule is anything to go by, fans can likely expect it to arrive around August 7. With only a few weeks left to go, publisher Activision has officially begun teasing the major content update. Over the weekend, marketing for the next season kicked off in a big way when Call of Duty announced a collaboration with I Know What You Did Last Summer for Season 5. The unexpected crossover is to celebrate the horror film’s release, and will seemingly bring the iconic Fisherman to the shooter as a purchasable operator skin, although specific details are currently unknown.

It’s currently unknown how long the event will run for, but they usually come to an end on Monday, which means fans will have until July 28 to make the most of the Double XP. It’s also unknown as to whether or not this event is simply for player and weapon XP, or if fans will be receiving double Battle Pass XP and 2X Gobblegum earn rate in Zombies.

So those who are looking to level up their Season 4 Battle Pass in Black Ops 6 and Warzone will want to make sure they’re making the most of the event, assuming that Treyarch is kind enough to activate Double Battle Pass XP over the weekend. Once Season 5 begins in August, Activision will introduce a brand-new Battle Pass for players to work their way through, once again bringing a plethora of different cosmetic items, operators, weapons, and more to both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Those who are cautious about purchasing more Battle Passes for Black Ops 6 will be pleased to know that there is a strong chance that Activision will bring back the controversial Carry Forward feature for Black Ops 7. Although the studio has yet to officially announce it, a new ESRB rating referenced specific weapon blueprints found in Black Ops 6, suggesting that the publisher will once again allow players to take their cosmetic items, such as blueprints and operator skins, into this year’s Call of Duty title.
