Treyarch Studios has officially unveiled the new Black Ops Tribute Event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, featuring a plethora of in-game rewards for players to collect. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 now just days away, fans will soon be able to jump into a myriad of new content, including the new Black Ops Tribute Event which will kick off shortly after the launch of the new season.
While Call of Duty: Warzone fans will need to wait until April 3 to jump into Season 3, Activision recently confirmed that the new season will be starting earlier than expected for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Season 3 will now launch on April 2 for Multiplayer and Zombies players, featuring a brand-new Battle Pass, weapons, modes, maps, quality-of-life improvements, and more. Initially, Season 3 was due to launch for both games on March 20, but Activision delayed the update’s release by two weeks. The studio didn’t share specific details on why the season was delayed, but did note that Season 3 was going to be a “big moment” for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops Tribute Event
On March 27, Treyarch and Activision pulled back the curtain on Season 3 and revealed the entire Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 roadmap. Alongside details on returning Modern Warfare weapons, new multiplayer maps, and more, Treyarch also revealed the new Black Ops Tribute Event. The event will take place between April 17 and May 1, with 17 rewards up for grabs, including the Death Machine Scorestreak, Nail Gun Special Weapon, Close Shave Perk, Thermite Lethal, and more. The final reward, which can be seen in the post below, is the John Black Ops operator skin, which features a blacked-out outfit similar to Modern Warfare‘s controversial Roze skin.
Activision says the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 event is a “legendary tribute” to the Black Ops series with plenty of rewards that “honor the history of the series.” To unlock all of the new rewards, players simply need to earn XP in any mode to progress through each section of the event. The event will also be available in Call of Duty: Warzone, but those who own Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be able to earn additional rewards only available for use in the shooter. Other rewards include the C9 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags, an emote, and GobbleGums for use in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
With Season 3 introducing a ton of new content to the game on April 2, Activision is celebrating by kicking off a brand new free trial for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. For shooter fans who have yet to dive into Treyarch Studios’ newest shooter, the studio is making the game free-to-play between April 2 and April 3, which also coincides with the 24-hour server downtime period for Call of Duty: Warzone. During this period, Warzone‘s servers will be offline in preparation for the return of Verdansk, but the good news is that everybody will be able to jump into Black Ops 6 and check out all of the new content with Season 3.
