Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is set for January 28, but many players believe they’ve already worked out what weapon will be returning in the mid-season update. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch Studios recently teased the addition of a “rip-roaring projectile armament” for Season 2 Reloaded, which fans are certain is hinting at the return of the D13 Sector from 2015’s Black Ops 3.
The next season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is just a few days away, and is set to bring a whole host of new weapons to both titles. Earlier this week, publisher Activision and developer Treyarch Studios pulled back the curtain on all of the new content coming to both titles on January 28. While Warzone fans will have plenty of new gameplay improvements and bug fixes to look forward to, Multiplayer fans are being treated to five new maps, four new modes, plenty of gameplay updates, and more. Alongside the return of some iconic weapons such as the PPSH-41 and FN FAL (which is now known as the TR2), Treyarch also teased another special weapon for Season 2 Reloaded.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Fans Think The D13 Sector Is Returning in Season 2
Just like previous seasons of Call of Duty, Black Ops 6 and Warzone will receive even more content at the halfway point of Season 2. The “Reloaded” update is expected to drop either at the end of February or the beginning of March and will bring new maps, perks, weapon attachments, and more to the game. While Treyarch has already confirmed some of the new pieces of content coming in Season 2 Reloaded, it remained coy about a new weapon. In a recent blog post, Treyarch said a “rip-roaring projectile armament” is coming during Season 2. Many fans, as reported by Detonated, have speculated that this is a reference to the D13 Sector, a weapon from Black Ops 3 that fired ricocheting discs at enemies.
Although fans are deadset that the D13 Sector will be joining the list of weapons for Black Ops 6 Season 2, the community won’t receive any confirmation for another month as Treyarch says more information will be shared in the Season 2 Reloaded blog. Other notable additions coming to Black Ops 6 are Grind, a fan-favorite multiplayer map from Black Ops 2, Bullet, which is a brand-new 6v6 and 2v2 map set on a moving train, a new perk known as Hunter’s Instinct, and the Flyswatter Wildcard, which allows players to replace their dedicated melee weapon with a launcher.
Season 2 will also bring a highly requested feature to Black Ops 6 and Warzone Ranked Play. Following the launch of Season 2 on January 28, console players will be able to disable crossplay when jumping into a ranked match. This new feature comes after players expressed their frustrations with the game’s ongoing cheating issue. Activision remains committed to rectifying the issue, but will soon give players the option to play strictly with other console users, as many hackers are on PC.
