Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets New Playlist Update for August 2025

Developer Treyarch Studios has released a brand-new playlist update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, adding some fan-favorite modes and playlist options into the mix. The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update doesn’t require a client-side download and is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Fans can jump into Snipers Only, Nuketown 24/7, Stakeout 24/7, and many more right now.

The latest playlist update is the first of Black Ops 6 Season 5, which was released just last week, on August 7. The big seasonal update added tons of new content to not just Black Ops 6‘s Multiplayer and Zombies, but also to the free-to-play Battle Royale title, Call of Duty: Warzone. The free update gave fans two brand-new multiplayer maps to check out, as well as a remastered version of W.M.D, which was first seen in the original Black Ops. There is also plenty of new weapons, a fresh Battle Pass, and more for players to check out. As for Warzone, Stadium got a big update that once again opened up the POI, just like the old days.

With the first week of Season 5 officially in the books, Treyarch is keeping things fresh with a brand-new playlist update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. According to a new post on the studio’s Twitter account, the update adds a Snipers Only playlist to the game, completely removing all other ways of elimination. As the name implies, the mode features no equipment, no field upgrades, and restricted scorestreaks to ensure that the only way to eliminate enemies is with a Sniper Rifle. The update also features Black Ops 6‘s hugely popular Stakeout 24/7 playlist, Nuketown 24/7, Small Map Moshpit, Aim High, Party Games: Blueprint Sharpshooter, and Party Games: Blueprint Gun Game.

Although there are still many playlist updates to come, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is officially approaching the end of its life cycle. If previous years are anything to go by, fans will see one more season of Black Ops 6 before support comes to an end. The good news, however, is that the end of Black Ops 6‘s life cycle is to make way for a brand-new Call of Duty game, Black Ops 7. There’s currently no release date for the next installment in the franchise, but Activision has confirmed that a worldwide reveal for Black Ops 7 will take place on August 19, meaning there are just a few days left to go until fans get to see what the future holds.

As Call of Duty continues to find itself in hot water with fans, many are eager to see how Black Ops 7 intends to go head-to-head with Battlefield 6. EA’s first-person shooter series has been absent ever since the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021, but there’s no denying that the series is officially back with a bang. In its first open beta weekend, Battlefield 6 has already managed to overtake Call of Duty in peak concurrent players on Steam. While Call of Duty peaked at just over 491,000 concurrent players nearly three years ago, Battlefield 6 soared past that number on August 9, peaking at more than 521,000 concurrent players.
