Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone publisher Activision has officially extended the game’s ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event by an extra seven days. The massive collaboration with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saw a plethora of new cosmetic items and weapons make their way to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and now fans have until Thursday, March 20 to complete the in-game Event Pass and unlock all of the available rewards.
Like past events, Activision found itself in hot water with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players due to the controversial Event Pass released alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration. While fans will need to fork out roughly $80 to get their hands on all of the new Turtle operators, they will also be required to spend an additional $10 to unlock the Premium version of the TMNT Event Pass. The high price led to outrage among the Call of Duty community, as many feel as though the game is turning into a cash grab due to the constant Event Passes, Battle Passes, BlackCell Passes, and store bundles.
Activision Extends Black Ops 6’s TMNT Event
While the event hasn’t been without controversy, that hasn’t stopped Activision from extending its collaboration with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by seven more days. According to the in-game countdown, the event was initially due to end on Thursday, March 13, but will now come to an end on Thursday, March 20. This means players who have yet to complete the Event Pass have some additional time to unlock either the free or premium rewards. Activision has yet to comment on the reason for the event’s extension, but many speculate that it is likely due to Call of Duty Season 3’s delay.
Originally, Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 was scheduled to launch on March 20. With just a few weeks left in the current season, Activision shared disappointing news when it confirmed that the major content update will now be dropping on April 3 and not March 20. While the studio didn’t get into any specific details, it noted that the new season was going to be a “big moment” for Call of Duty, which is why it has opted to take the extra time to make sure it is a great experience for players.
It had been speculated for many months that Season 3 would see the return of Verdansk in Warzone, but Activision finally put those rumors to bed by making the news official earlier this week. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision shared a short teaser trailer for Verdansk’s return, while also confirming that the map will make its comeback with Season 3 on April 3. Details on the new season are still scarce, but recent leaks suggest that some iconic Modern Warfare operators and weapons will be returning, including the Grau 5.56, AMAX, HDR, and more.
