While Black Ops 6 continues to receive a steady stream of new content updates and hotfixes, developer Treyarch Studios is gearing up for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 following its worldwide reveal earlier this month. The next entry in the franchise will take place in 2035 and will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, featuring the return of David Mason and the infamous Raul Menendez. Although the release date for Black Ops 7 has yet to be confirmed, it is tradition for a new Call of Duty game to be released in either late October or early November. As for the platforms Black Ops 7 will release on, Activision has confirmed that the shooter will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Just hours before the new season was due to launch, developer Raven Software announced it would remove Battle Royale Solos from Call of Duty: Warzone. The decision was met with a huge amount of backlash from the community, as Raven Software had decided to replace the mode with Battle Royale Casual Solos, a nearly identical playlist option with one big difference: the majority of players in the lobby are bots. Then, Call of Duty found itself in even more hot water with players as it attempted to introduce store bundle advertisements to the game’s create-a-class system. Activision would go on to remove the feature and claim it was a test published in error, but not everyone was convinced.
