After Microsoft’s monumental acquisition of Activision-Blizzard was finalized in 2023, fans quickly began to wonder which of the studio’s IPs would make their way to Xbox Game Pass. While the first Call of Duty title to be added to the service was 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 became the first entry in the franchise to launch on the service on day one. With the Call of Duty series now under the Xbox and Microsoft umbrella, many players on the platform are eager to see some exclusive content thrown their way. While it’s not quite exclusive to Xbox users, there is now a new Combat Pack that Game Pass subscribers can redeem at no additional cost.

A new report from a reputable insider claims Activision is actively reconsidering its approach to unrealistic operator skins in Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Releases Xbox Game Pass Combat Pack
Back in February, Activision left fans baffled after it released a PlayStation Plus exclusive bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Included in the Combat Pack were two operator skins, three weapon blueprints, and numerous other cosmetic items and in-game consumables. Now, two months after its release, the publisher has now made the very same bundle available for certain Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Those subscribed to the Core or Standard tiers won’t be able to redeem the pack, but anybody with an active Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription can download the Combat Pack by heading to the Microsoft or Xbox Store and searching for “Call of Duty: Warzone – Game Pass Pack 1.”
While most Xbox fans are pleased to see the Combat Pack no longer exclusive to PlayStation users, it did cause controversy upon its initial release in February, as many Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players expressed their dissatisfaction with the bundle. Unfortunately, the two operator skins included in the Combat Pack aren’t new, as some users have already paid for them in previous bundles. Prior to their inclusion in the PS Plus and Game Pass Combat Pack, the skins were included in the Blood Letting and Jungle Trooper bundles, which many fans had paid for. Players quickly blasted the Combat Pack as the “scummiest thing” Activision has ever done, as many believe it wasn’t fair to those who had already purchased the skins.
Those who haven’t already purchased the skins in previous bundles can now obtain them at no additional cost via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. For players not subscribed to Xbox’s lucrative service, there are plenty of other benefits outside of Call of Duty packs. Just this week, a batch of new games were added to Xbox Game Pass, including day one releases such as South of Midnight, Commandos: Origins, and Blue Prince. Other smash hit titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 are also making their way to the service on April 15, followed by another day one release with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on April 24.
