Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Announces Collab With Popular Horror Movie

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has confirmed an upcoming collaboration with the recently released horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer. The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 collaboration offers a more grounded crossover than some found recently in the game.

In recent years, there have been tons of unique Call of Duty crossovers with other franchises, usually involving the purchase of microtransactions to get access to skins. This hasn’t always been popular with the Call of Duty community, with some feeling that these types of collaborations can ruin the game’s immersion. The recent Black Ops 6 American Dad crossover is a pretty extreme example of this. Others like the ability to play as their favorite characters from other franchises, but there’s certainly no agreed community consensus on the matter.

Call of Duty Players Being Banned for ‘Plunder Boosting’

Several Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 players report getting permabanned for allegedly “boosting” by taking advantage of Plunder matches.

In a trailer posted online, Treyarch revealed that I Know What You Did Last Summer is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in the future. This trailer showcases the film’s slasher villain in action, although doesn’t reveal any other details of what the collaboration might entail. There’s no date, either, although it’s likely it will arrive as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s upcoming Season 5.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets I Know What You Did Last Summer Collab

The Call of Duty franchise has form for these kinds of horror crossovers. Just last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 added Art the Clown to the game, bringing the Terrifier movies to the world of COD. At least with this latest I Know What You Did Last Summer collab, it’s a game set in the 1990s crossing over with a franchise that has very firm 90s roots, so it somewhat makes sense.

It’s approaching what would typically be the end of a Call of Duty life cycle in the next few months with Black Ops 6, and anticipation is already starting to build for the next game in the series. Just a few days ago, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s release date was rumored to have been leaked. It was somewhat surprising that fans are getting two Black Ops games back to back, and hopefully Activision will reveal more in the coming months.
