A new leak suggests several exciting Zombies maps are currently in development for this year’s Call of Duty title, which will once again be helmed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch. These newly leaked Zombies maps include one set in Japan and one in New York. There is still plenty of Zombies fun to be had in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, though it seems like players are in for an exciting next chapter soon if these leaks hold true.
With each new Call of Duty title comes new modes, maps, campaign missions, and, of course, Zombies maps, with the undead survival mode remaining a crucial part of Treyarch’s development cycle years after it was initially introduced. What originally started as a small Easter egg packaged at the end of the campaign mode for Call of Duty: World at War has grown and evolved into one of the primary reasons some players pick up a new Call of Duty title in the first place, with some significant changes being made in last year’s Black Ops 6. However, Call of Duty is an annual franchise, with fans already awaiting what could be next for 2025’s unannounced Call of Duty title.
A new round of leaks from reputable leaker Tom Henderson via Insider Gaming suggests that there are active plans for several new round-based Zombies maps for this year’s upcoming Call of Duty title. According to reports, Call of Duty 2025 will once again be led by Treyarch, who is still in the middle of supporting Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It’s claimed that Treyarch is looking for more unique places to set its Zombies stories, with some rumored maps being set in Japan and New York, as well as a space station located in the Dark Aether.
Call of Duty 2025 Leak Reveals Potential Zombies Maps
A total of six round-based maps are rumored to be planned for Call of Duty 2025. In addition to these claims, Call of Duty 2025 will seemingly have its own version of Black Ops 2‘s Tranzit, an infamous map that has gained a cult following over the years. Each new Treyarch title has gone for a different tone and vibe with its selection of Zombies maps, with Black Ops 6 being no different. A total of four maps can currently be played in Black Ops 6, with locations like Liberty Falls and Terminus proving to be incredibly popular.
While the Zombies formula has mostly remained the same over the years, Treyarch made some big tweaks and changes for Black Ops 6. One of the studio’s biggest goals has been making side and main Easter egg guests more accessible, something it seems to have finally found a solution to with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Directed mode. Players can use this to easily keep track of Easter egg steps and main objectives, giving everyone a fair chance to experience the story. It’s unknown what new features may debut in Call of Duty 2025, though it seems likely Treyarch’s ever-expanding Zombies storyline will continue.
