Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players are reporting a strange bug on the multiplayer map Subsonic, which is resulting in players’ deaths for no apparent reason. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the latest entry in the hit first-person shooter franchise, but despite now almost being halfway through its life cycle, there are still a myriad of bugs, glitches, and general gameplay issues that continue to plague players’ overall experience.
Treyarch Studios’ newest Black Ops game received rave reviews from critics when it launched in October 2024, but the shooter appears to have been on a downward trajectory ever since. Since its release five months ago, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has seen a sharp decline in players. At least on Steam, anyway. With both Black Ops 6 and Warzone tied to the same Call of Duty HQ app, there’s no definitive answer as to which game has lost more players. But, with that being said, the Call of Duty community has had plenty of complaints about both shooters in recent months, primarily due to gameplay issues, cheaters, and a high number of bugs.
Black Ops 6 Players Killed by Strange Bug on Subsonic
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is no stranger to bugs and glitches, but the latest one has resulted in some serious frustrations from players. In a new post on Reddit, user Dromendus highlighted an issue with the map Subsonic, revealing that there is one spot on the map that will kill the player instantly. It’s unclear why this one spot is killing players, but this doesn’t appear to be the first time it has happened. Plenty of other users chimed in to reveal that the bug had also killed them. Reddit user Champagne_anyone said that they were on a nuke streak a couple of months ago before being killed by the bug, while Kale-Character said it has happened to them twice in one match, but they were unable to figure out what was happening.
The bug has likely been present for quite some time, but given its small radius on the map, it has yet to be picked up by Treyarch Studios. For those wanting to avoid this part of the map to ensure no unnecessary deaths occur, it appears to happen on the left-hand side of the middle truck near flag A (if playing Domination). With new Black Ops 6 updates released regularly, there is hope that the developer will pick up on the bug and rectify it in a future patch. But, for the time being, it is highly recommended that players avoid this small section of the map.
Call of Duty fans can likely expect a huge number of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements to be released alongside the highly anticipated Season 3 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The bad news, however, is that players will be waiting a little longer than initially expected for the next season, as Activision recently announced that Season 3 has been delayed by a few extra weeks. With the new season shaping up to be the game’s biggest yet, the studio has opted to push its release date from March 20 to April 3.
