Modern Warfare 3 Season 4 has arrived, bringing with it a host of new weapons and the DNA Bomb Killstreak to replace the Nuke. Among the additions is the fan-favorite Kar98k Marksman Rifle, which returns to domain multiplayer like it did Verdansk.

The best Kar98k build in MW3 focuses on its speed, because since the Marksman Rifle already has one-shot capabilities, we don’t need to put any focus on its damage. With this in mind, we recommend starting with the Bryson Carbine-S Barrel and DR-6 Handstop for a huge ADS speed buff, ideal for quickscoping or simply reacting to an enemy that breaks cover.
Next up is the SL Razorhawk Laser Light, which drastically improves the sprint-to-fire speed so you can bomb around the map without feeling too sluggish when it comes to a fight. If you find yourself in a long-range gunfight, the Recon Sling will reduce flinch and help you stay on target.
Finally, the optic is mostly down to personal preference, but I found that the SP-X 80 6.6X strikes a nice balance between zoom for picking off enemies from afar, while still being light enough to recreate the feel you’ll remember from MW 2019.
All in all, after testing out this Kar98k class in-game, it’s perfect for sprinting around the map and landing trick shots while still packing a punch if you need to snipe.

If you want to start running around the map to quickscope, Covert Sneakers will mask your steps so the other team doesn’t hear you coming. Meanwhile, EOD Padding keeps you safe from any incoming explosives.
When it comes to Equipment, Throwing Knives are perfect for scoring quick kills at close range, while Smoke Grenades can offer some cover while you escape a tricky situation. Finally, a Trophy System blocks grenades and keeps you protected while hunkered down in a Sniper spot.
How to unlock Kar98k in MW3
You can get the Kar98k in MW3 by completing Sector 5 of the Season 4 Battle Pass. Once you’ve reached the Sector, you’ll need five Tokens altogether – four for the sub rewards and one to claim the weapon itself at the end.
Luckily, the iconic rifle is one of the free rewards this season, so you can unlock it even if you haven’t purchased the Battle Pass.
