Nearly every activity in Call of Duty requires an online connection, meaning that any server-related issues can prevent you from playing altogether. So, here’s everything you need to know about the current server status for both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Throughout Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2, cheating has been the main talking point, however, the situation becomes even more frustrating when you’re not able to play the game entirely due to server-related issues.
Players have been reporting serious issues with Call of Duty’s servers so if you’re unable to play, here’s the current MW3 and Warzone server status.
Are Warzone & Modern Warfare 3 servers down?
Call of Duty servers for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 could be down for players as the devs confirmed widespread issues across both titles.

On February 23, players reported that they couldn’t find matches and that their progress was completely reset; they’re back at Level 1 with no weapon progression, back in Bronze ranks for Ranked Play, and can’t see the Battle Pass tab.
Luckily, the devs have responded stating they are “working on a fix” for several issues including events, challenges, progress, and more. However, some players have managed to hop into MW3 and Warzone public matches despite the issues, and have reported much more relaxed skill-based matchmaking.
In addition, Ranked Play for Modern Warfare 3, Ranked Play for Warzone, and MW3 Zombies have been taken offline as the devs work on a solution.
Keep in mind that devs didn’t share what the consequences of playing despite these issues could be. So until an official fix has been released, it might be better to avoid logging in to avoid any of these problems, like stats and progression being reset.
How to check MW3 & Warzone server status
You can visit the Call of Duty Updates X account to check the Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone server status. This account is often the quickest to inform players when it comes to ongoing server issues.
While these are the most efficient methods to verify the MW3 and Warzone server status, players can also head to the official Activision Support page, which indicates any ongoing issues across their titles.
If you can’t play MW3 or Warzone due to a server issue, it’s also worth checking your platform’s support pages for any ongoing network issues, whether that’s PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Battle.net.
