Standard Modes in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

Here are the core multiplayer modes you can jump into at launch:

Team Deathmatch (6v6)

It’s a fan-favorite mode where teams compete to make the most eliminations. The first team to reach the score limit wins. A Face Off version of Team Deathmatch is also available.

Domination (6v6)

Capture and defend objectives on the map to earn points. Domination in Black Ops 6 features an updated scoring system with zones around each flag for more tactical play. It is also available in Face Off mode.

Search & Destroy (6v6)

Take turns planting or defusing a bomb with no respawns. Black Ops 6 ups the intensity by showcasing the final kill with a Kill Cam rather than the Best Play, adding a cinematic touch to the end of each round.

Kill Confirmed (6v6)

In this mode, you must collect dog tags from fallen enemies to score points while preventing the enemy team from doing the same. A Face Off version of Kill Confirmed is also available.

Free-For-All (FFA, 8 players)

Every player is on their own in this mode. Eliminate enemies to reach the score limit and secure victory.

Hardpoint (6v6)

Teams compete to control rotating zones on the map called Hardpoints. Consecutive hardpoints are numbered, making it easier to strategize and track the objectives across each map.

Gunfight (2v2)

A fast-paced mode where teams of two face off with pre-selected loadouts. The goal is simple—eliminate the opposing team with no respawns available.

Headquarters (6v6)

Capture and defend the Headquarters. Once captured, the defending team’s respawns are disabled, creating high-stakes gameplay as teams fight to hold the objective.

Kill Order (6v6)

In this unique mode, teams are tasked with eliminating a designated High-Value Target (HVT) while keeping their own HVT safe. Eliminating the enemy HVT earns bonus points. Kill Order also comes in a Face Off variant.

Control (6v6)

Teams alternate between attacking and defending control zones. Strategy is critical, as both sides vie to dominate the map and achieve victory.

Alternate Game Modes

For a twist on the standard game modes, Black Ops 6 introduces face-off variations. These modes maintain the same objectives but disable Scorestreaks for a more balanced and tactical experience.

  • Face Off Domination (6v6): Capture and defend objectives without Scorestreaks.
  • Face Off Team Deathmatch (6v6): Eliminate the opposing team, minus the Scorestreaks.
  • Face Off Kill Order (6v6): Protect your HVT while hunting the enemy without Scorestreaks.
  • Face Off Kill Confirmed (6v6): Collect dog tags while denying the enemy without the aid of Scorestreaks.

Hardcore Mode Variants

For players seeking a more intense experience, Black Ops 6 offers Hardcore versions of popular modes. These matches feature limited HUD, enabled friendly fire, and reduced health, pushing your skills to the limit. Hardcore modes launching with Black Ops 6 include:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Kill Order
  • Domination
  • Hardpoint
  • Search and Destroy
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Free-For-All
  • Face Off Moshpit

Additional Features: Firing Range and Training Course

Beyond the core and alternate modes, Black Ops 6 introduces two essential features to help you improve your skills before hitting the battlefield:

Training Course

The Training Course, set on the Protocol map, is a perfect place to familiarize yourself with the game’s Omnimovement mechanics and combat essentials. Players can run the course repeatedly to master their maneuvers before entering real matches.

Firing Range

The Firing Range returns with new features designed to help players fine-tune their loadouts:

  • Adjustable target dummies at 10, 25, and 50 meters, with up to three armor plates.
  • Unlimited ammo to test weapons freely.
  • Damage, accuracy, and target elimination trackers.
  • Optional moving and recoil targets to test precision and control at various ranges.

Conclusion

At launch, Black Ops 6 offers a robust lineup of multiplayer modes catering to casual and competitive players. With classic modes, new additions, alternate versions, and the return of Hardcore gameplay, players have plenty of variety to dive into. As the Preseason and Season 01 roll out, expect even more modes and updates to keep the action fresh.
